The client's request was to continue the spa-like environment Dona Rosene Interiors had just completed in the adjacent master bathroom (see Ethereal Bath) into the Master Bedroom. An elegant, antique silver finished chandelier replaced the ceiling fan. An upholstered headboard & tailored bed-skirt in the ethereal gray green linen compliments the geometric fabric used on the pillows & drapery panels framing the shutters and hanging from a bronze rod. The fixed panels soften the wall of French windows and door as well as creating the illusion of height. A cozy seating area warms up to the fireplace and TV.Photos by Michael Hunter.

Inspiration for a small 1960s master medium tone wood floor bedroom remodel in New York with gray walls and no fireplace

The main level at this modern farmhouse has a great room and den bookended by stone fireplaces. The kitchen is at the center of the main living spaces where we designed multiple islands for smart base cabinet storage which still allows visual connection from the kitchen to all spaces. The open living spaces serve the owner’s desire to create a comfortable environment for entertaining during large family gatherings. There are plenty of spaces where everyone can spread out whether it be eating or cooking, watching TV or just chatting by the fireplace. This cute beach house in the iconic Pleasure Point neighborhood needed an overhaul after years of salt spray and neglect. My client wanted low-maintenance plants, year-round color and succulents. He also wanted a peaceful, zen-like environment. We chose neutral pavers in greys and tans in a simple pattern for the driveway and flagstone for the patio that matched the new colors of the home. The plant palette is simple yet striking and about as low-maintenance as you can get. A beautiful waterfall cascades over stone and percolates gradually into the drycreek. A perfect spot for unwinding with a glass of wine after a long day.

Since we wanted this nursery to be mostly neutral with some pastel accents, I opted for unpainted, natural wood furniture paired with white for an eclectic feel and decided on these great pieces from Oeuf. A wood beaded pendant hangs from the ceiling and mirrors the natural vibe. The crib bedding is super simple with just a patterned sheet. This ensuite girl’s bathroom doubles as a family room guest bath. Our focus was to create an environment that was somewhat feminine but yet very neutral. The unlacquered brass finishes combined with lava rock flooring and neutral color palette creates a durable yet elegant atmosphere to this compromise.

A reading nook under the stairs in the family room is a cozy spot to curl up with a book. Expansive views greet you through every tilt & swing triple paned window. Designed to be effortlessly comfortable using minimal energy, with exquisite finishes and details, this home is a beautiful and cozy retreat from the bustle of everyday life. Jen G. Pywell

A reverse accent on the backsplash. The blue Lisboa patchwork hex tile highlights the backsplash. By spacing it out with solid white as an accent, it creates a visual resting spot from the intricate pattern.
