We collaborated and created an expanded 12’x15’ addition space to accommodate a newly designed kitchen which is now 21’x15’. Before we began with the construction process, proper structural engineering presented a challenge as the property was built on ledge. As expected, we determined that several concrete supports were necessary and needed to be built to support the expanded structure. Our plan included both creative aesthetic and functional layout modifications to transform this ordinary kitchen into a spacious, well-lit, highly functional, stylish and welcoming space to cook, gather and entertain. The bump-out allowed for more functional cabinetry and a dining table which before was placed in a corner of the previous cramped kitchen. Now, there is a wide open space from the adjacent living room and a clear path to a 5’ French door opening to the pool deck. The homeowners also elected for us to extend a new roof over their existing deck creating a nice shaded space to entertain guests. The island, which serves as the central gathering spot. is eye catching with contrasting dark cocoa colored cabinets and stunning natural looking Cambria quartz countertops. Large, easily accessible deep drawers provide much needed storage for pots, pans and lids as well as expansive countertop space for everyday prep and family get-togethers. Having worked with Clifton, ten years prior, the homeowner of the Dynasty Court Residence believed it to be time for his 1,794sq.ft three-bedroom apartment to be given a complete and total facelift. Built back in the '90s, the residence had been updated once before through Clifton's services, but with a new chapter of retirement drawing nearer, the desire for a modern touch presented itself once again – this time with inspiration from Scandinavian interiors. Arris hips and Valley Tiles Project. Back story. The owner of Dewson Construction has spent close to 15 years assembling this parcel of land. He had commissioned Archer Buchanan to design the house but just before construction started his wife suddenly died. Dewson lost interest in the project and put the land on the market subject to his company building whatever residence was approved. The purchaser Mr. Russomagno purchased the land and the plans and had Dewson’s build it. When the new owner met with the architects to go over the plans the only change to the original layout was he has a kitchen pantry door moved 3’ to the left! Richard Buchanan, who we has already done a number of roofs with pushed for our tiles. They were not sure if he wanted a brown or a Classic grey roof, so the roofer and I laid up a display of both. Mr. Russomagno is a man of few words stood in front of the display and said ‘Stuart if this was your house what would you have?” Dangerous question to ask a roof tile junky. He went off for about half and hour and when he came back I had laid up display starting with a few rows of Classic grey then blending with the Bown to give the look of an old weather stained roof. The client took one look at it and said ’Yes I like that’. Much later after the Russomagno’s where living in the house he called me to say that some friends had visited and asked him where he got all the old tiles from! Install: This roofer had never installed on of our tiles before or had never installed a batten system either. We spent a day with him on site to get things started and kept in close contact during the install. Once he got the idea of installing the battens, laying the hard parts of the roof first, the gables, the valleys and hips and around dormers etc, leaving filling in the field until after, he realized the huge time advantage battens provides especially on a steep pitched roof like this.

Jen Denham of Reico Kitchen and Bath in White Plains, MD collaborated with Personal Touch Installation to design a transitional style inspired primary bathroom featuring Merillat Classic Cabinetry. The vanity cabinets are the Fox Harbor door style in Maple with a Cotton finish with MSI Q Galant Gray vanity countertops. The bathroom includes Nashville Bianco Coveland gloss shower wall tile, Nashville Moss Greige shower floor tile and Ceracasa Filita White floor tile. “Jennifer was absolutely fantastic; we couldn’t ask for anyone better. She made suggestions, listened to concerns, answered questions, and was exceptionally patient through multiple color changes. We never felt rushed to make a decision. Having previously worked with Jen on a complete remodel, it was an easy decision to return for our bath project," said the client. “The master bath was original to the house and was chopped up into two rooms, a huge wasted area for a giant soaker tub that was never used and small cramped spot for their shower toilet and vanity,” said Jen. "We all agreed that the design didn't quite fit their needs. After exploring several options, we settled on a spacious shower with aging-in-place features like a bench and handheld. We added more storage with the large vanity and bench off the back end of the shower. The bump-out allowed for more functional cabinetry and a dining table which before was placed in a corner of the previous cramped kitchen. Now, there is a wide open space from the adjacent living room and a clear path to a 5’ French door opening to the pool deck. The homeowners also elected for us to extend a new roof over their existing deck creating a nice shaded space to entertain guests. The island, which serves as the central gathering spot. is eye catching with contrasting dark cocoa colored cabinets and stunning natural looking Cambria quartz countertops. Large, easily accessible deep drawers provide much needed storage for pots, pans and lids as well as expansive countertop space for everyday prep and family get-togethers.
