Sensitive massing subtlety weaves the home into its street context, and creates a variety of spaces within for the young active family. The main living areas open to one another and the adjoining landscape in a progression of spaces that range from casually elegant to comfortably informal. The primary color used throughout the interior is sunlight. The house traverses the course of a day awash in daydreamy Southern California light, and is rich with subtle surprises: instances of used brick on walls and ceilings, built-in, hand crafted cabinetry, pennies used as flooring in the powder room; Creative uses of tile, fixtures and cabinet hardware differentiate each bathroom.

This detached custom designed garage and upstairs living suite had to both our client’s existing custom home and stand on its own as a feature within the landscape and the upscale Main Line neighborhood located outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Balancing traditional architectural design with a modern architectural feel, this new building is full of detailed surprises. It features the very best in updated building materials and amenities including real stone veneer, fire rated glass walls, a custom built stairway, a full featured kitchen with guest quarters, and a large sweeping balcony which takes in the artisanal, hand crafted stone walls and lush outdoor gardens. This quaint little kitchen was a wonderful project, the home owners were from Canada and were on a tight budget. We were able to find a nice large slab of Montclaire White from MSI in phoenix and used a 3cm and did a flat polish edge, with a small radius on the kitchen island.

What a dramatic transformation this was and a complete honor it was to be able to remodel this bathroom for such a fun, loving, inspiring family.
