The genesis of design for this desert retreat was the informal dining area in which the clients, along with family and friends, would gather. Located in north Scottsdale’s prestigious Silverleaf, this ranch hacienda offers 6,500 square feet of gracious hospitality for family and friends. Focused around the informal dining area, the home’s living spaces, both indoor and outdoor, offer warmth of materials and proximity for expansion of the casual dining space that the owners envisioned for hosting gatherings to include their two grown children, parents, and many friends. The kitchen, adjacent to the informal dining, serves as the functioning heart of the home and is open to the great room, informal dining room, and office, and is mere steps away from the outdoor patio lounge and poolside guest casita. Additionally, the main house master suite enjoys spectacular vistas of the adjacent McDowell mountains and distant Phoenix city lights. The clients, who desired ample guest quarters for their visiting adult children, decided on a detached guest casita featuring two bedroom suites, a living area, and a small kitchen. The guest casita’s spectacular bedroom mountain views are surpassed only by the living area views of distant mountains seen beyond the spectacular pool and outdoor living spaces. Inspiration for a mid-sized transitional kitchen/dining room combo remodel in Chicago with green walls

It’s common today to create multi-purpose spaces in your home. Whether it’s a home office and gym or a laundry and mudroom combo, families are looking to maximize every inch of space. We were called in to do just that for this local Amarillo homeowner and she knew exactly what she wanted, a matching addition to her existing brick ranch. This new space was needed to accommodate a private space for visiting guests throughout the year. Since this room would only be used occasionally as a bedroom, the homeowner also wished to use it as an exercise room. How can this be accomplished? With a murphy bed! We set out to design the addition to blend seamlessly with the existing house using the same windows, doors and exterior brick. Inside the addition, a Murphy bed is flanked with custom built-ins featuring open shelving on the top and cabinets on the bottom. The room overlooks the pool and has it’s own private entrance, separate from the main home. The adjoining bath features a tile shower with glass surround, a closet and two skylights. When not being used as a bedroom, the Murphy bed folds nicely into the wall and the floor space can be used for yoga or other floor exercises. The treadmill fits nicely in the room even when the bed is folded down.

After several years on the remodeling to-do list, the homeowners decided to update to add a sense of style to their half-bath/laundry and called the Renovisions team in to help create their vision for this space. The main goal was to provide a clean, open and inviting feel, while adding a nice balance of texture and interest. Upon a few visits to the Renovisions showroom, to discuss a suitable style, the final CAD design was approved and de-construction began. A new double-hung window replaced the old window, and measurements were taken for the new painted wood shutters. Out with the existing tile flooring, vanity, drop-in sink, toilet and outdated wall cabinets over laundry pair and window. In with the stylish, now taller shaker style vanity in stunning blue-green paint color. Pretty quartz countertop with under mount sink, and energy efficient comfort height toilet. The white subway wall tiles provide a classic look with timeless appeal fabulous with black porcelain floor tiles and contrasting light grey grout. Black and white provides a more dramatic look without compromising the rooms longevity. Overall. The client is thrilled with the simple and fresh look of her now more interesting and stylish bath/laundry room. The vintage industrial design with stylish mini pendant light fixtures with clear seedy glass shades in old bronze finish is a perfect addition to this newly remodeled space and ties in nicely with the oil rubbed bronze hardware and accessories. “The bathroom is SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL…….floor, tile, vanity, countertop, cabinets, lighting, and the faucet….I could not be more pleased!!!!!!” - Susan M.
