This non-dairy ice cream shop wanted an all natural welcoming environment that would reflect their product and fit into Boston’s trendy Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Unconventional finishes such as reclaimed barn wood, repurposed gymnasium floor planks and a cork counter top add to the unique nature of this shop. Each piece of the decorative paneling was individually stained and applied giving a one of a kind effect to this neighborhood ice cream shop.

This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project. The glass bowl was made in the glass studio owned by the owner which is adjacent to the residence. The mirror is a repurposed window. The door is repurposed from a boarding house. George Mendel

This bathroom was carefully thought-out for great function and design for 2 young girls. We completely gutted the bathroom and made something that they both could grow in to. Using soft blue concrete Moroccan tiles on the floor and contrasted it with a dark blue vanity against a white palette creates a soft feminine aesthetic. The white finishes with chrome fixtures keep this design timeless.
