Staircase - contemporary glass railing staircase idea in Seattle

Bob and Denise Harter, owners of Lancaster County bed and breakfast located in the town of Ephrata, PA renovated and restored their historic staircase with Nusatir stair caps and premiered risers. The Inn has experienced numerous transformations throughout it’s two hundred and thirty five year history, from a millenery shop, stage coach stop, hotel, restaurant and doctors’ office. It now serves as a Bed and Breakfast with a Brewery attached. This beautiful staircase is front and center upon entry and fits the historic, aged feel of the property to a tee.

Completed in 2015, this project incorporates a Scandinavian vibe to enhance the modern architecture and farmhouse details. The vision was to create a balanced and consistent design to reflect clean lines and subtle rustic details, which creates a calm sanctuary. The whole home is not based on a design aesthetic, but rather how someone wants to feel in a space, specifically the feeling of being cozy, calm, and clean. This home is an interpretation of modern design without focusing on one specific genre; it boasts a midcentury master bedroom, stark and minimal bathrooms, an office that doubles as a music den, and modern open concept on the first floor. It’s the winner of the 2017 design award from the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has been on the Tribeza Home Tour; in addition to being published in numerous magazines such as on the cover of Austin Home as well as Dwell Magazine, the cover of Seasonal Living Magazine, Tribeza, Rue Daily, HGTV, Hunker Home, and other international publications. This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. This garage was a dumping ground, was dirty and unorganized. The windows were old and rotting. The client is an avid woodworker and wanted to convert the garage to a functional, bright workshop. We stripped the garage down to the studs and added insulation. Numerous electric outlets were added for the power tools. New windows and trim eliminated drafts and dressed it up. Lastly a wood floor was installed for easy clean up. These enhancement give the detached garage an opportunity to become multi purpose, such as an office.

The pattern was selected from numerous choices available, and the colors were chosen to compliment the existing furnishings in the room. This is a “one-of-a-kind carpet”, made specifically for this client. The rug anchors everything in the room together, including the sofa fabric, the chairs’ fabric, and the window treatment’s fabric. This custom designed rug simplifies shopping for area rugs using and coordinating with the exact colors of the room. The pattern design & colors are sculpted into the main carpet color. All of the chosen colors naturally coordinate with everything together in the room.
