Working with Liz was great! From start to finish it was a simple process, even though almost all of it was done remotely. Iterating on the design boards was fun, and allowed us to converge on a style and design. The end result is perfect -- its exactly what I wanted. Its comfy, functional, and very very beautiful. Could we have done it ourselves? Yeah, probably. But the time end effort saved by leveraging the DSI pros and their warehousing services totally was worth it.

We hired DSI to design our whole house remodel. Leyla recommended a contractor that we trusted and she provided us with amazing ideas that we loved. After the renovation we purchased our furniture through The Shop by Design Shop Interiors and they did not disappoint. Once our furniture was delivered we then had DSI style our home. AMAZING!!!! We could not have done our renovation without DSI and the awesome designers at The Shop. We highly recommend DSI for design and style.

I first met Leyla in December 2017 when I asked her to come to my home to help me pick a interior paint color for our home. It didn’t take long for both of us to realize the paint color was just fine as is. I really was just having difficulty decorating my brand-new new-build home. I immediately realized I wanted to hire Leyla to redo our downstairs dining, living and kitchen area. She helped me realize a grand dining room fit our family lifestyle better then a dining and formal front room. She designed a new island for our kitchen which included a waterfall and lower seating area in our kitchen. Leyla picked out a beautiful maple wood counter for the island and kitchen table. She tested out maple stains herself and showed me the final choice before the counter went into production. We moved light fixtures, added lights and removed two can lights making the overall space more grand and more balanced. The design and construction ideas turned out beautifully. I’m so glad I followed all of her design ideas because seeing the end result now is beyond my dreams and expectations. Leyla assigned her Senior Design Assistant Ashlee to my project. Ashlee was chosen based on my style alignment which was modern boho. Ashlee and I clicked from our first meeting. She and I have so much in common and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. These ladies kept in contact with me even after hours and on weekends to make sure things went smoothly from the very start. I had a deadline of finishing the whole project before the birth of our son which they were able to accomplish even with how highly in demand their business is. The end result, spectacular! They coordinated my style, with cohesiveness of beautiful color palates, enriched by many decorating layers and all done with kid friendly pieces. Every time I walk into our home I’m in awe of the beauty I see all around me and the happiness I feel by how gorgeous our home is now!

After watching too much HGTV, we had the crazy idea to buy a 1986 fixer upper. We had several contractors walk through but it became clear we needed a local Joanna Gaines to help us design the space.. because we certainly didn’t know what we were doing and the contractors needed direction. Our biggest fear was designing a space on our own that worked in our heads but failed in reality. I ended up reading an article in Sacramento Magazine that showcased DSI’s work and called Leyla immediately. She came out and walked the house, discussed ideas and their process. We were sold. Leyla knows how to incorporate both mine and my husband’s ideas but also has pushed us outside of the box a bit.. and the result has been nothing short of amazing. Not only is our house a million times better than anything we thought it could be, Leyla helped us to navigate contractor issues and snags (as any project has) with a cool head and a can-do attitude. We also enlisted Whitney to help us furnish and style all of the main living spaces in our home. Again, Whitney has the same ability to take both mine and my husband’s concerns into consideration - and injects her own style expertise without being pushy. Whitney has taken a beautifully designed space and made it completely next level. When we came home to find it furnished and decorated, it literally blew our minds. We would never be able to style our own home like this (such skills are not in our wheelhouse). My husband was skeptical when we started out, but he’s a full “believer” now and wants DSI to style the rest of our home. We’re already planning the next phase with their team. That’s how good they are.. and are truly worth EVERY penny!! Hire them, you will not be disappointed!

Design Shop Interiors, specifically Angie, did a phenomenal job designing three bathrooms and a guest room for our home. She took the time to make sure each bathroom was just right - we worked closely together on every detail. Angie's expert opinion was so valuable. To top it off, once the remodel was complete, Ashlee came and put on the finishing touches with her amazing decorating skills. The outcome was everything we hoped for and more!

My consult with Leyla was aMazing! I’ve done consults with other designers in the past and they can be vague and slow and leave you not feeling confident. You end up feeling like you didn’t get anywhere. Not so with Leyla! We asked Leyla to come help us own some basic ideas for flooring and paint in a 110 year old home we recently purchased, plus help us prioritize future projects. What we got was far more than that! She walked our home answering every question we had and giving us solid ideas, leads for vendors and contractors, and creative things to think about. I left with simple questions answered like “what color to paint here?” “Should i change these door knobs” and also more complex layout and design advice, including how to use certain challenging rooms in our home. She’s creative, knowegable, detail oriented, and obviously has the most exquisite taste in town. Plus she’s super fun and great to talk to! I seriously have a plan for my whole house in just two hours and can’t wait to have her back to work on decor!!

The ladies at Design Shop are amazing! They are fantastic to work with and their designs are beautiful. They took my style and ideas and incorporated it into the design. Our house is older and now it feels so refreshed without losing any of its character. Looking forward to many more projects.

Let me set the stage of the “before”. I had two chairs alone in the front room of our newly purchased 1952 adobe home. Two lonely chairs. I was paralyzed on how to move forward with the room, a room that is the first impression of the house. I wanted to really be thoughtful about anything I did within the home because I wanted to celebrate the bones, the Adobe, and pay respect to the Spanish/Ojai style. Insert Design Shop Interiors. I met with Leyla first and she first helped focus me. She pulled me away from all the other squirrel projects I was working on to focus on one thing and it was that front room! She also told me to stop purchasing random things and to commit to creatively working with her magical, kind, funny, dreamy team to put a plan together for that front room which would set tone for the house. It worked! Ashlee Berry has an unreal eye for design. She knew exactly the warmth and pop I wanted and curated something I love and that she was proud of. Whitney also supported the build and style of the room. The dynamic duo make me smile! Within 4 months we had an install of my beautiful new living room. It exudes all the personality of the home and my family. It’s detailed. It’s classy. And it didn’t break the bank. Some pieces I splurged on and some we found on a smaller budget. The process over the short few months was easy. Mood boards were created, respectful negotiations happened (ha), and DSI made my house a home. My favorite elements are the 5ft art curated of Ms Tina Turner and the neutral palates of the chairs and couch. My Ojai style dream home is becoming a reality. Can’t wait to work on the next project with them!

Leyla and Whitney of Design Shop Interiors created the most beautiful nursery for us! Not only did they have an amazing vision and impeccable execution, but they were able to work me in on a very tight timeframe. I initially contacted Leyla in my third trimester and they completed the nursery within six weeks. They were attentive to both my taste, preferences and budget, and created something better than I ever could have imagined! My husband and I hired Leyla for a consultation for our master bed/bath. During the 2 hour consultation we got so much information! We now have a layout for our bathroom, ideas for finishes, a list of stores to visit for inspiration, and contractor recommendations. Our house was built in the 70's and has been updated very little since. AMAZING!! Design Shop Interiors is a first class team of designers that are a force to be reckoned with. Design Shop Interiors exceeded all of my expectations! I am a developer who focuses on residential remodels, The project Leyla helped me with was a 4 plex in downtown Sacramento. The home was burned in a fire so we needed to design it from the ground up. Leyla walked me through the entire process and even introduced me to some of her sub contractors. I hired Leyla to do a consultation on my master bathroom. She was exceptionally helpful in explaining different layouts, materials, and even construction techniques to ask for when hiring contractors. Layla and her team at the Design Shop are incredible to say the least. I moved into an almost 4K sqft home from a 1500 and brought enough furniture for like 3 bedrooms, I thought hey I am pretty savvy with Pinterest and can design myself. After 3 months I turned to interviewing interior designers as I needed help!!! I spoke to 5 designers and about gave up until Layla called me back. Layla and Ashley listened to every concerned I had and they handled my "control issues" absolutely beautifully. They kept me in the loop of this project daily and answered all of my calls/texts. Leyla came by our offices to lend a hand in suggesting upgrades and design elements that we could incorporate into our remodeled office space. Not only was she super helpful, but she encouraged us to think differently about our design aesthetic and pushed forward the prominence of our brand throughout the office. Exactly what we had hoped to accomplish.

We met with Leyla before putting our house on the market. She gave us a paint plan for the interior and exterior and pointed out small construction tweaks for the interior and exterior spaces of our 1948 cinder block home. We trusted her completely and followed her directions to the letter. The result was an amazing (jaw dropping) transformation. We received an offer our house after it being on the market 5 days. I had a negative experience with Leyla. She came to meet us at our house we had just purchased. I hired her for a consultation to see if she had any layout ideas before we drew up plans for remodel. The first words that came out of her mouth were "why did you buy this house?". I was stunned and heartbroken, what a horrible thing to say to someone who just bought their first home. She repeated that probably 6 times during our meeting. As she threw out ideas and we discussed, she was off put every time I politely disagreed or discussed other options. At one point she said "what am I even here for?". My realtor, who was also present, was also put off by the way she treated us. I did not appreciate her attitude and negativity towards us. I would not recommend her.

Leyla has been absolutely awesome! I am a real estate investor and I use her design strategies on All my properties. She does wonderful work and all my properties sell fast. I get nothing but compliments on the designs she does to my projects. I plan on remodeling my home this winter and i will definitely be using her!

Nothing but the highest praise of Leyla and her design team, Ashlee and Whitney! These women are truly masters of their craft. I am a first time home owner and I was overwhelmed with furnishing and decorating the space. At one point I had 12 different shades of grey painted on the wall! My partner and I are also incredibly busy and spending every weekend looking at furniture was not our idea of fun. From my first time meeting with Leyla she immediately put my mind at ease. Leyla is fabulous!!! I'd never worked with a designer before so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I hired Leyla for a two hour consultation to discuss my kitchen remodel plans. She looked at my entire house, listened to my ideas, desires and budget and worked from there. I recently met with Leyla to provide some recommendations for our home that we have been in for about 2 years. She was amazing. She came in and gave a ton of ideas for each of the rooms and provided me with a list of places to find reasonable pieces. I loved that she recommended a mix of high and low end ideas that would tie together nicely. I hired Leila for a two hour consult to discuss our Master Bath remodel. What I most appreciate about Leila is that she understands that when designing spaces they should be reflective of the individuals who live in them. I hired Design Shop for a consultation on my family room, Leyla spent more time looking at other rooms and not focusing on the room I wanted to work on. I specifically wanted advice on a new paint color and told her I liked warm tones. She had me go with a greige which looked grey/purple in my north facing room. Not something I like at all, her advice was null after that, so after painting I had to hire another designer to help me with a paint color and furniture selection. I did not feel that she even wanted me as a client. She did help me find some chairs on Craigslist, which I really like.

Just go with Leyla and her team, take it from someone who tried to design all by myself before and failed miserably. I cannot begin to explain how much time and money I saved on my [many] projects by hiring an expert with a keen eye for design who was not afraid to speak the truth. If you're not an interior designer yourself, why spend hours and hours and hours of your time on something that isn't your area of expertise to get stuff that you're only half happy with because they looked far better in the picture or the showroom than they do in your actual home. Maybe they aren't sized right or the color or style is off, but regardless of what it is, you've spent hours/days/months of your precious time, not to mention serious money on something that doesn't really work. Design Shop Interiors took my style, the style of my new home, the [rare] furniture pieces I wanted to keep with that in mind, made my home beautiful, stylish and most importantly, highly functional. And despite some initial doubts, they were 100% right the first time, every time with sizing, color, style and pricing of what would work best in every arena. We had Leyla come to our home for a 2 hour consultation. She showed up on time (early even) and went through EVERY item, question, concern that we had on our list. She left us with a great starting point for our new home (paint colors, space planning, furniture ideas, window coverings, basic design rules). Leyla was respectful, insightful, reasonable, easy to talk to, and current (her style is on point!). Our first experience was wonderful, we can't wait to work with her in the future!

We met Leyla at a Home Show in Folsom. She offered to come to our house and consult us for a very reasonable price. Before I booked her I looked at her work and I loved everything she did. We are European and I saw a Scandinavien influence in her design. We mainly needed help with the kitchen and she had some amazing ideas and color suggestions when she came to our house. She gave us a recommendation for every work we needed done. She also made some eye opening suggestions when she walked through the rest of the house and we intend to realize every idea she had . We started with the kitchen and worked with the carpenter she recommended and we loved his work. He picked up all of us Leyla's idea and our kitchen turned out amazing .

Leyla has a keen eye and attention to every detail. She has done 8-10 designs for houses that my company rehabbed and sold within days of listing. Her designing has helped us tremendously reach our top pricing when selling. I always make sure to involve her with my projects prior to doing any repairs. I am genuinely happy with all she's done for us.

Leyla & Ashlee at Design Shop truly gave me the master bedroom and bathroom of my dreams!! We live in an older house and never in my wildest dreams did I think our bedroom or bathroom could be transformed into what was created. The before and afters are unreal! Excellent consult and great tips! Provided design consult for our newly built house which was totally empty. We did not know where to start; Leyla gave us practical tips and considered our budget. Helped us do online shopping for window treatments and furnitures. Gave us lots of ideas on where and how to start decorating our home.

I hired Design Shop to come in and help with a few paint colors to transform a rental home into my vacation /AirBB home. Leyla was happy to help with that alone- she freely tossed some additional ideas around. I was hooked on her services right away!! Building your home is exciting....and overwhelming! With decisions to make from literally millions of choices, we needed professional help. Leyla has a very realistic approach and the ability to keep you focused and budget conscious when it comes to making selections. We often joke that if it weren't for her, our home would end up being a "glow-in-the-dark-mirrored-disco-house". Instead we have a beautiful, classy and contemporary home. Our budget is small, so she helped me narrow down paint color options, made a few quick-fix suggestions (simple as changing curtain rod height - what a difference) and came up with some seriously ingenious ideas for resurfacing our ugly fireplace and awkward niche next to it. I thought we were going to have to spend big bucks to remodel the fireplace, but with her ideas we are going to re-surface it, add a rustic mantel to tie it all together, and voila - we'll have a new focal point in the room for probably under $500 (instead of the eyesore that is currently hiding behind furniture). Leyla is AMAZING!!! After living in our home for a year and spending so much time, effort and money into trying to decorate (I wasn't very successful...my walls were painted a vanilla color and I purchased a blue sectional, way to color match!), I decided to call in an expert and found Leyla. All I have to say is WOW!!! To say we're happy is an understatement. We are a mortgage company here in Elk Grove California and we hired Leyla to help us with a re-design of our office. When we started, we had no idea what we wanted to do or what direction we were going in but after meeting with Leyla, she really helped us figure all of that out. We started with the entry and reception area. She helped paint colors, finding us furniture and even went as far as arranging the delivery and dealing with the salesmen at the furniture store. We hired her because she knows what life is like with little ones in the house it's important that our home be functional for our family AND we have a limited budget. We didn't know where to start when she arrived for our appointment, but 2 hours later we had a plan and we feel confident moving forward. We knew it was crucial that we stage the apartment to show the space in its best light. We hired Leyla and were thrilled with the results. Not only did she do an imaginative and beautiful job in staging the apartment, she was a pleasure to work with. A true professional, she was patient and flexible when we missed our construction completion dates, incredibly resourceful in finding furniture for the space on a tight budget, and extremely hardworking. We received multiple comments on the staging and were able to go into contract in less than 3 months, which in the market, was truly excellent. We recommend Leyla without reservation and only wish she had stayed on the East coast to help us with our next project!

Leyla came out for a 2 hour consultation. My intent was to get ideas and colors for a dining room and bathroom. It was totally worth it because Leyla seems to instinctively know design. In her mind's eye she saw a round table where I had been considering to switch out my rectangular dining table for a round one but I hadn't even asked her yet. She pointed to me that of all the pictures I saved for her to see what style attracted me, my current decor did not reflect it, in color or style. Seems like a no brainer and yet I didn't see that until she showed me specifics. She pointed out things like wallpaper and paint meeting without an architectural break was a no no. I never liked the way it looked but didn't know why. She honestly pointed out that my kitchen was too dark, and that I should repaint the dark ceilings. Her manner is direct, honest and cheerfully friendly. I had a long list of questions and she addressed every one satisfactorily whether it was about draperies, wall colors or furnishings. I would hire Leyla again. Sorry no pictures yet. Because I'm acting as my own general contractor and doing a lot of the work myself it is taking longer than anticipated, perhaps I can attach a photo later on.
