This backyard rain garden is designed to capture and infiltrate excess rainwater, benefiting the surrounding plants and trees while also recharging the groundwater. This setup supports a diverse array of blooming perennials and attracts wildlife, enhancing the garden's ecological value while also creating visual appeal.

This shady corner of the backyard lawn conversion is shown here at 9 months of growth beside the dry creek bed and pond-less boulder fountain. The locally native California plants will grow in to create a naturally beautiful, wildlife-friendly, and water-wise garden.

The DACC Fluoroscopy Suite provides students with a space to observe and work with modern medical imagery equipment. Two spaces within the existing suite were modified to include an equipment room and a student observation room. The equipment room featured a RADPRO Solegra R/F Table which required the installation of lead lined gypsum board, a lead lined door and a lead lined window for viewing. The equipment control console was installed within the student observation room for interactive teaching. Other improvements to the space included electrical modifications, new lighting, new flooring and new wall finishes.

I took pause a couple of weeks ago to head out with my children to the edges of our meadow. We had a special task at hand that day, to collect milkweed seeds for my Aunt and Uncle’s cabin in the Catskills. It’s a place I’ve been visiting for decades and a place my children now visit. We simply refer to it as “The Cabin”. That afternoon we gathered milkweed pods and settled into the simple joy of watching the ethereal seeds travel on a puff of air. Seasons ago, my children began to make “wishes” on the seeds, inspired by their lightness and grace as they journeyed high into the clouds. In this spirit, we conjure our wishes each fall in hopes that they will take root and thrive next spring after our winter of inwardness has passed. I have the suspicion that many unclaimed wishes made their way into our basket that afternoon and are eagerly awaiting their new place at The Cabin.
