A relaxing ensuite master bedroom we designed for this getaway home! Trendy meets tranquil in this design, with a beach-inspired color palette, unique artwork, and luxurious textiles. The master bedroom has a stunning focal point - the custom headboard in a contrasting black. The headboard is large and in charge and also offers conveniently placed side tables. In the master bathroom, a classic wooden vanity is introduced to more contemporary aesthetics through the vessel bowl sinks and wall-mounted faucets. Gray countertops and a gray tiled backsplash work harmoniously together while the black-framed vanity mirror complements the black trim on the vanity.

Many recent renovations had already taken place at this phenomenal old Tudor home. The kitchen redo was saved for last. Our mission, imposed by our client, was to create a jaw-dropping, ultra-functional space for family and friends to gather in for years to come. Naturally, the new kitchen would have to reflect the style of the home seamlessly. One challenge was to incorporate very large professional style appliances into the space while keeping the feel of a stately, yet warm home. Custom wood panels were designed for the refrigerator units to give a furniture feel. A copper hood was designed to bring in an old world element. Wood panels were applied to all other appliances – two dishwashers, a wine refrigerator, and a beverage refrigerator. An iron I-beam that separated the original kitchen from the butler’s pantry and back entry was covered in wood with chamfers to match the other ceiling beams in the home by a local woodworker. Due to the age of the home, the outside walls are concrete block. This necessitated chiseling troughs into the concrete for electrical wiring. Ceilings were studded randomly, so finding openings for recessed lighting was hit or miss. A large cluster of wiring and plumbing to the second floor had to be hidden behind cabinetry to the left of and above the refrigerators. HVAC wasn’t straight forward either. Toe kick heaters from the old kitchen had to be replaced with other sources. A propane tank had to be added to fuel the large dual fuel, double oven range. The homeowner wanted to add a walk-in pantry for extra storage, so space was taken from an existing exterior space. This created the need for extra insulation, supplemental heat and added lighting. Needless to say, mechanicals were a big challenge. Natural stone was added in backsplash areas to the ceiling to mimic the rectangular stone on the exterior of the home. Wood panels fill the backsplash areas under wall cabinets. Large chandeliers light the space. Open shelves at the wet bar/prep area offer convenient storage for grab and go service items. A built-in pantry with antique mirrored mullion doors hides a microwave, several other small appliances as well as dishes and food items. This pantry was tucked into an alcove for an added architectural element. Herringbone wood floors are classic and timeless. Wrought iron hardware and shelf brackets fit right in. This kitchen transformation began with a dream for a light and bright kitchen that functions beautifully in a classic style that will never feel tired or dated. The homeowners never looked back as we tore out the old red linoleum floor and the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining area. A door connecting the kitchen to the bedroom corridor was closed off to maximize the counter and storage space and a new door was added to an adjacent office/guest bedroom to provide easy access to the kitchen. Snow white cabinets, white marble quartz and glossy white ceramic backsplash tile was paired with warm woods and revere pewter walls to create a bright yet inviting space. Deep drawers were chosen for plate and glassware storage. Trash and heavy duty butcher block cutting board rollouts offer convenience. A built in floor to ceiling pantry includes rollout drawers for easy access to dry food storage. An island microwave makes the task of quickly heating food accessible to even the youngest family members. Our favorite details include a gorgeous live edge buffet counter, cozy built-in eating nook with an heirloom dining table and a budget friendly dining nook pendant with a custom diffuser and cord added by a local light lighting shop. "Maximize Your Space: The Upstreman Black BR321 Mini Fridge I'm a college student living in a tiny dorm room, struggling to keep my snacks, beverages, and leftovers fresh. My regular trips to the communal kitchen fridge are time-consuming and frustrating. I often discover my snacks mysteriously disappearing. This was the exact situation I found myself in before investing in the Upstreman BR321 Mini Fridge. It was a game-changer for me in more ways than one. One scorching summer, my friends and I hosted a movie night in my dorm room. We brought our snacks and even ice cream. Given the limited space, I doubted one appliance could handle it all. Still, with a capacity of 3.2 cubic feet, the Upstreman BR321 Mini Fridge exceeded my expectations. As we stocked the fridge with beverages, the efficient single-door and adjustable thermostat stood out, cooling our drinks to varying preferences seamlessly. It ran quietly during our movie night, its soft 38 dB hum lost amid our enjoyment, unlike the disruptive communal fridge. It operates smoothly on 115 volts.
