As president of Finglas Painting, I run the day-to-day operations of the company. Yet I also feel an obligation to train and mentor the next generation of painting professionals. Lots of treatments went into this 3 bedroom home to acheive an updated cohesive, turnkey, calming environment. Just move-in the furniture, and enjoy! Ceilings, Window Trims, Baseboards and Doors converted back to the same white throughout the entire house. Significant dents on all trims and sills were filled and sanded smooth. Benjamin Moore "Advance" took care of the existing old oil-base paint on all trims. Custom-colour-mixed paint applied to all walls after receiving repairs for dents and dings, throughout. Wallpapers and paper-boarders were removed, and in some areas where wall damage wouldhave been extensive, treated and painted. All closets, Kitchen cabinets, and bathroom walls painted in durable Benjamin Moore "Advance". Yes even the folding-slide entry-closet door!

This door was built with the same style of construction as barn doors were built 100 years ago. The siding is real wood siding and was painted with a linseed oil based paint. The light is an original barn light that was refurbished and outfitted with a photo cell.

A semi-formal living room on the Upper West Side. My client wanted a rug with a large graphic pattern. We started with the rug and built on it. The coffee table has no sharp corners which was a must with two small children in the home. The arm chairs and slipper chairs were family heirlooms that we had reupholstered. The room is a fun balance of modern and traditional.

Revient provided the Antique Chestnut flooring for this customer in their kitchen remodel. They used an oil-based finish to make the grain pop. This gorgeous wide plank antique Oak is our most requested floor! With dramatic widths ranging from 6 to 12 inches (14 inches in some cases), you can easily bring an old-world charm into your home. This product comes to you completely pre-finished and ready to install. We start by hand sanding the surface, beveling the edges ever so slightly, and being careful to preserve the historical integrity of the planks. Typically, about 80% of your flooring will be "Smooth" with the remaining 20% having a slight texture from the original saw kerfs. This material will also have nail holes, knots, and checks which only adds to the unique character. Next, we apply Waterlox, a tung oil based sealant with or without stain added. Finally, 3 coats of Vermont Polywhey finish are added with a hand buffing between coats. The result is a luxurious satiny finish that you can only get from Historic Flooring! The goal was to provide a uniform and consistent look, although one opening was 4 5/8" smaller than the other. Our solution was to build upper and lower units the same and "float" each side of the fluted trim 2 1/4" . That allowed 1/16" each side to set cabinets. The result was " CUSTOM BUILT-IN " entertainment cabinetry with high gloss grade paint, antiqued bronze handles on drawers and cabinets. Bead board back drop, plinth block, fluted moulding finished with rosettes adorns this cabinetry with a triple stage crown moulding.
