Originally cedar siding. The cedar on all of the dormers was rotting, or starting to rot. The homeowner wanted it replaced with Composite cement board so there wouldn't be any future rot and maintaining it would be less of a hassle.

This Bathroom was designed to incorporate Luxury in a smaller Bathroom Space. The beautiful Chandelier is clearly a focal point in the space.

first time home buyer came to LaMantia seeking a new kitchen… just a kitchen. Little did she know what was in store for her lovely new (old) home when first meeting with LaMantia kitchen designer, Gina Mazzone, CKD, CBD. The drawings that Mazzone presented created a fresh 21st Century open plan for a good portion of the first floor of the home; a plan that perfectly fit this young professional woman that loves to entertain.
There are mixed feelings regarding the loss of a formal Dining Room, but even with removing the Dining Room wall common with the Kitchen, Mazzone was able to maintain the distinction of a separate, formal room with the addition of the shallow arched opening that mimics other doorways existing in the residence.

Project Overview

Materials and Products Used
Windy City Painters selects premium paints from trusted manufacturers including Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore, chosen specifically for Chicago's climate demands. Primers, fillers, and caulks are all professional-grade for lasting adhesion and durability.
Our Step-by-Step Process
Step 1 - Prep and Repairs: All surfaces are cleaned, sanded, and patched. Cracks in plaster or drywall are filled and feathered smooth before any painting begins.
Step 2 - Priming: A quality primer is applied to ensure proper adhesion, uniform sheen, and long-term durability across all surfaces.
Step 3 - Paint Application: Multiple coats are applied using the right tools for each surface - brushes, rollers, and sprayers where appropriate.
Step 4 - Final Inspection: Windy City Painters conducts a detailed walkthrough with the homeowner to confirm every detail meets our high standard.
Chicago-Specific Challenges
Older Chicago homes present unique challenges including lead paint layers, aging horsehair plaster, moisture from harsh winters, and intricate vintage millwork. Windy City Painters is trained to handle all of these safely and professionally.
Results

Pro Tips Before You Start
