In order to keep the temperatures out while allowing the evergreen views in, Glo A5 double pane aluminum windows and doors were selected. This series has increased energy efficiency with a larger continuous thermal break, multiple air seals, low iron glass, and high-performance spacers. In order to maintain clean sight lines and cohesive design appeal, the hidden sash was selected for the windows. This gives the operable windows the appearance of fixed windows with the same coordinating slim frame. Since minimal and modern were a major focus for the home’s fenestration products, all the handles were powder-coated to match the black windows and doors throughout. This kitchen remodel in Minneapolis neighborhood, nestled in a quiet pocket of mid-century homes near the river trails, embraces its compact footprint with smart, space-efficient design. Rather than default to an open-concept layout, the kitchen remains enclosed - enhanced by a custom operable vertical shutter that allows the kitchen to be closed off for focused cooking or opened to share light and conversation. Warm flush wood panels on the living room side blend seamlessly with the home’s original character. Reconfigured window openings with H windows establish sightlines from the front door to the backyard, framing a shared community garden beyond and a mature pine from the kitchen space. Brown ash cabinetry, neutral quartz counters, and a handmade ceramic tile backsplash nods to the home’s mid-century character balancing utility with beauty. Double-sided reeded glass uppers filter additional natural light into the kitchen while allowing tableware access from both the kitchen and dining room. This project focused on realigning and calibrating garage door safety sensors for a homeowner in Evanston, IL. The door was failing to close properly because the infrared sensors were misaligned, causing the system to stop midway. Our technicians inspected the wiring, cleaned the lenses, and adjusted the sensor angles to ensure accurate detection and smooth operation. After the alignment, the door closed safely and consistently without interruptions. We also tested the opener system and verified that the safety reverse function worked perfectly. The homeowner appreciated the quick fix and the improved reliability of their garage door. Proper sensor alignment is essential for safety and prevents unnecessary wear on the opener system.

The master bath and kid's bathroom were the last things to change in this Lakes of Blaine 2-story with the built-in, space-robbing Jacuzzi. The owners had previously updated the kitchen and expanded the footprint of the home with an addition for office and other uses. Now it was time to complete the decades-long renovation and modernize the bathrooms. Getting rid of the Jacuzzi was at the top of the list, followed by a complete redesign of how the rest of the space operates. That included whether to keep the single sink in the Master or give up some counter space and go for the dual sink, which is the more traditional approach. They opted for more sinks and mirrors. Just goes to show that every remodel is custom and totally dependent on what homeowners want to meet their lifestyle. They liked the wood but wanted a lighter tone and anything but oak! They also wanted some amenities, such as heated floors in the master. In the kid's bathroom, they focused on a thematic shift in color. In both bathrooms, patterns, and textures chosen from our design center showroom were used to catch up and even surpass today’s trends.
