Completed in collaboration with Hobel Designs, this Spring 2022 renovation transformed an Elizabeth home with a beautifully designed primary suite addition and a fully remodeled hall bathroom. The project was created to enhance comfort, functionality, and everyday living while maintaining a seamless connection to the home's existing character. The new primary suite features a spacious bedroom, a thoughtfully designed walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom that provides a private retreat for the homeowners. The hall bathroom was completely updated with modern finishes, improved functionality, and timeless design elements. Outside, the renovation extended into the backyard with a refreshed patio and improved pathways, creating inviting outdoor spaces for relaxation and entertaining. Every detail was carefully planned to maximize usability, improve flow, and create a cohesive experience both inside and outside the home. The result is a beautifully updated property that combines elegant design, quality craftsmanship, and practical living solutions.

Hosting was a top priority for our clients, who requested a serving bar with lots of storage and room to sit. To maximize space, we designed a custom U-shaped bar with ample seating. Inside the bar, we made room for lots of appliances, including two refrigerators on each end. The bar wouldn’t be complete without drawer components to hold wine and liquor bottles, so we outfitted the space with all the storage they needed, including an additional serving area that provides even more room.

This elegant primary bathroom is defined by simplicity. We compiled a strict palette of material and hue, then optimized the floor plan to maximize utility. Jib doors conceal the water closet and an entirely new closet; disappearing seamlessly into the white oak wall clad. The space is outfitted with function and ambient. Led channels at the sink vanity, a lighted mirror at a custom makeup vanity and cast glass sconces the generous skylight make this bathroom feel like an altar to light.

Enfort Homes presents ‘Swingline Cottages’ a brand new 3 home cottage community featuring 3 beds, 2.5 bath, including a 1-car garage, covered patios gas stubbed for BBQ, and fully fenced yards with landscape lighting. Each home is thoughtfully designed and outfitted with smart home upgrades. Well-equipped kitchens include Thermador appliance package and quartz countertops. White Oak hardwood floors and 8’ doors on main. 9’ ceilings on both floors, custom organizers, A/C, and well-appointed primary suites with 5-piece spa baths and walk-in closets. Although this Hinsdale home was only about a decade old, the floor plan and finishes already felt dated. The homeowners expressed that the layout wasn’t working—particularly the disconnect between spaces they used and those they didn’t. O’Brien Harris was originally brought in to renovate the kitchen, but it quickly became clear that a more holistic transformation was needed. The formal dining room, located at the front of the house, had long gone unused. Along with design Brynn Olson, O’Brien Harris reimagined the space as a high-gloss wine lounge that now opens onto the front terrace. The adjacent covered porch was enclosed and converted into a light-filled new dining room, making entertaining and everyday meals more inviting and accessible. O’Brien Harris also fully paneled the great room, adding built-in bookcases and reshaping existing arches to bring depth, warmth, and architectural continuity. The galley-style kitchen is now the heart of the home. Designed for a family that loves to cook and entertain, it features a central island and a secondary wall of storage with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry to house refrigeration, freezer drawers, and extensive dish storage, outfitted with a library ladder. The cabinet finishes are a blend of painted surfaces and light oak, offering warmth without heaviness. Icebox-style strap hinges and latches bring refined vintage character to the space while emphasizing functionality with beauty. In the primary bath, O’Brien Harris introduced painted cabinetry beneath a waterfall stone counter to coordinate with upholstered panels and full marble finishes. Located in Sonoma on 2.5 acres with sweeping canyon views, our client's home was built on a long, rectangular lot in 1972. They had owned it for just over ten years and used it for weekend escapes and entertaining. The home burnt down during the 2017 Tubbs fire, and our firm was engaged to design the rebuild. The site did not offer much wiggle room for a new footprint, given the flat bench area that had been graded into a steep hillside when the original subdivision and road were developed. This resulted in a plan that would mostly remain the same; a linear rectangle designed to fit between the driveway and the pool. The primary site strategy move was to change the front entry from the driveway end of the site to the middle of the rectangle, improving the privacy between the master bedroom and public space. We were also able to add a partial second floor to relocate the guest bedrooms from the main level upstairs, thereby enlarging the entertaining spaces to expand graciously to the pool (which remained undamaged). A large pantry and kitchen area were also essential. Fireproof materials include fiber cement board siding and soffits, standing seam metal roofing, and concrete slab porch floors which do not catch embers underneath. The renovated pool was outfitted for fire prevention. The interiors showcase light and distant views and connect seamlessly to the flat areas outside, providing ample space for entertaining year-round and the clients' two springer spaniels. To make this happen, the designer created a smaller working space. Cabinetry was designed using the Whitney II Recessed door style in a combination of Matte Winter Sky on Walnut and Vintage Silver Mist, and a custom range hood found inspiration from the warmth of the walnut coupled with polished stainless accents. Custom contemporary refrigerator panels and armoire molding were outfitted to hide the oversized commercial grade appliances, and give the appearance of furniture, while double mirroring islands provide ample seating for entertaining and working. Our client had the perfect alcove to design a built-in desk. Cabinetry style is a slim shaker profile made of beautiful rift cut white oak. Each shelf is back lit with LED lighting. Drawers outfitted for file storage.

This condominium is modern and sleek, while still retaining much of its traditional charm. We added paneling to the walls, archway, door frames, and around the fireplace for a special and unique look throughout the home. To create the entry with convenient built-in shoe storage and bench, we cut an alcove an existing to hallway. The deep-silled windows in the kitchen provided the perfect place for an eating area, which we outfitted with shelving for additional storage. Form, function, and design united in the beautiful black and white kitchen. It is a cook’s dream with ample storage and counter space. The bathrooms play with gray and white in different materials and textures to create timeless looks. The 48” range with griddle was a necessity, in addition to a convection oven, steam oven, and warming drawer. The decision was made to dedicate a refrigerator column to beverages with an independent ice maker by the beverage bar.
