My clients were looking for form and function but not just form, they were looking for a Statement, a design that was unique, original, "Out side the Box". A style that reminded them of the modern architecture and design from their previous overseas residence.

Feature In: Visit Miami Beach Magazine & Island Living A nice young couple contacted us from Brazil to decorate their newly acquired apartment. We schedule a meeting through Skype and from the very first moment we had a very good feeling this was going to be a nice project and people to work with. We exchanged some ideas, comments, images and we explained to them how we were used to worked with clients overseas and how important was to keep communication opened. They main concerned was to find a solution for a giant structure leaning column in the main room, as well as how to make the kitchen, dining and living room work together in one considerably small space with few dimensions. Whether it was a holiday home or a place to rent occasionally, the requirements were simple, Scandinavian style, accent colors and low investment, and so we did it. Once the proposal was signed, we got down to work and in two months the apartment was ready to welcome them with nice scented candles, flowers and delicious Mojitos from their spectacular view at the 41th floor of one of Miami's most modern and tallest building. This was the last stage of this remodel. Client was eager to change out the green carpet he had throughout the house. While working on that, we decided to upgrade the staircase as well. Having dark tile in the kitchen and very light walls in the rest of the house, we agreed on doing dark floors. Our maple stairs are stained to match the luxury vinyl plank flooring, which turned out to look fantastic with the golden carpet we have upstairs. It is safe to say that final design of stairs and flooring matches client's vintage furniture and rugs that he's collected over the years of travel and work overseas. Drawing room In this room, we embraced the challenge of complementing the cherished artefacts and antique pieces our client had collected while living in Asia. There were many pieces of furniture and fitted furniture that needed to be incorporated, so these were all included in our design plans. Reupholstered jewel-toned sofas and a chaise longue set the stage. The addition of faux silk wallcoverings, carefully chosen lamps, a coffee table, and side tables created a space for taking time to enjoy memories of life overseas.

In this project, we combined two apartments in a classic, pre-war building in the heart of SoHo. My clients live overseas so I managed the day to day construction project on the ground for them.We wanted to keep the authenticity of the wood beams and exposed brick, but juxtapose it with modern flair so we painted the brick, re-stained the beams, brought in new floors and added a modern Bulthaup kitchen. It was important for my client to have pops of color (blue being a favorite), so I incorporated it throughout the apartment as evident in the fabulous kitchen lighting and oversized sectional.
