This room makes the very most out of a small space by combining a laundry center with a home office, we like to call it a craft center. In the laundry area, we placed a sink next to the washer and dryer to give you a convenient place to tackle tough stains. A clothes rack above lets you hang even wet clothes without fear - water simply drips into the sink. Wall Cabinets above the washer and dryer give you a place to neatly store laundry detergents and fabric softeners. You can also use the space to store off-season clothing, especially bulky sweaters. In what could have been wasted space, we opted to put a useful desk area. Two Desk Drawers give you a handy place to store mail and paperwork that may have otherwise easily cluttered your home. A Base Waste Basket keeps laundry sheets and office waste neatly out of sight. Finally, a small decorative ledge with Corbels adds a decorative yet functional finishing touch to the room.

OYSTER FINISH - Dynasty cabinets in other spaces - office cabinets. From top to bottom, off white cabinets like these are beautifully designed to make the most of the allotted space with charming style. Open shelving creates space for storage and decor while closed door cabinetry secretly stashes paperwork from view.

Example of an eclectic living room design in Seattle

The beautiful window became the groundwork for the design. Glazed ivory melamine with raised panel faces enhanced the wood flooring and trim without overpowering the room. High pressure laminate coordinating work surfaces were used for both durability and eye appeal. Large lateral filing drawers and a vertical file along with ample drawers for miscellaneous items created the spaces needed to keep paperwork from cluttering up the desk. With the addition of tack boards above the coordinating counters, notes can be accessed easily. The under counter LED lighting in a glazed light box allows the proper lighting. A modern update to an older house in Decatur, Georgia. We added a white wood front porch with a wooden retaining wall and a mix of wood and concrete stairs leading down to the driveway. Our poster project for The Three P's, this small midcentury home south of campus has great bones but lacked vibrancy - a je ne sais quoi that the clients were searching to savoir once and for all. SYI worked with them to nail down a design direction and furniture plan, and they decided to invest in the big-impact items first: built-ins and lighting and a fresh paint job that included a beautiful deep blue-green line around the windows. The vintage rug was an Etsy score at an awesome price, but only after the client spent months scouring options and sources online that matched the vision and dimensions of the plan. A good year later, the West Elm sofa went on sale, so the client took advantage; some time after that, they painted the kitchen, created the drop zone / bench area, and rounded out the room with occasional tables and accessories.
