Fred Alsen of FMA Interiors was awesome to work with, and we LOVE our new master bathroom! When my husband and I decided to remodel our master bathroom, I knew I wanted to rearrange plumbing in the space and that it was beyond my expertise to do so. Therefore I searched for a design professional by asking for recommendations from realtors, neighbors, and friends, as well as searching online at sites like Houzz. Based on recommendations as well as reviews and photos on Houzz, I met with Fred to discuss redesigning our master bathroom. After meeting in person and sharing Houzz Ideabooks, Fred instantly seemed to grasp my style and preferences. He came up with an initial design which I only tweaked slightly, and then he made it happen. This was my first time working with a designer and Fred made it a fabulous experience!. Since we were mostly out of town during the remodel, Fred handled EVERYTHING. Our bathroom turned out even better than I imagined, therefore I highly recommend working with Fred Alsen of FMA Interiors on any project.

Fred is amazing! All I did was give him a handful of shells that had purposely caught my eye on the beach in Naples Florida. He in turn gave me three exquisite bathrooms, intuitively reflecting all the earth tones of those beautiful shells. The bathrooms are uniquely different yet share a common theme of harmony and functionality. Details of which I did not even comprehend were addressed with a keen eye to design and budget. His choices of colors and materials were not 'me too' instead reflecting individuality. Contractors he used were skilled, considerate, and professional. Iam totally pleased and thankful.

Fred did an amazing job of designing a remodel of our kitchen and baths. I knew at our first meeting that he was the right person for the project. His listening skills are impeccable and he actually had better insight into what would work best for us that I did. He is involved in every aspect of the project, including the smallest details and the communication was always professional, courteous and engaged. I had a good sense of the style and outcome I wanted and Fred completely brought it to life with flair. He was able to find unique pieces to complement the rooms that always added just the right touch. He worked very hard to keep me on budget and was awesome at reeling me in when he needed to. The kitchen turned out beautifully-from the gorgeous Greenfield cabinetry to the amazing granite and full redesign, it is a dream. The baths are equally stunning. Fred listened to what I wanted and delivered. We were in constant communication, which had to be exhausting for him :), but he did it all with a smile. I would recommend him again and again for any project where beautiful design and a partnership with your designer is sought.

I highly recommend Fred for a kitchen remodel. My husband and I have been standing in our kitchen for 15 years trying to determine the best layout to increase our counter space without making huge sacrifices. Many people with similar floor plans in our neighborhood have put the refrigerator in the pantry, which was my #1 non-negotiable. Fred's response was "I like a challenge" and he delivered. He gave us a few options, was very open to our feedback, met our list of needs and designed a final layout which we love. He was very considerate of the overall design and functionality we wanted to get out of the space. Regarding the materials, he helped source everything from the cabinets to knobs. There were many cabinet options from Greenfield regarding style and wood, however it never felt overwhelming. He also has a good working relationship with appliance, fixtures and countertop resources, which made the process easier. If I had another room to remodel, I would call Fred.

Fred was both the designer and project manager for our main floor and full kitchen remodel. As a designer he really captured our sense of style and took it up a notch. As a project manager he kept us informed of any changes in the budget, kept the Contractors on point and made them re-do any sub-par work such as a crooked back splash that if we had been managing the project we may have let go and so glad Fred didn't.

Truth be told, at the project's beginning, I was reluctant to hire someone to design our kitchen when we already had the highest regard for our architect and her aesthetic. FMA turned out to be one of THE most critical components of our very comprehensive project—that opinion is shared by my spouse and architect! Fred Alsen's product knowledge, sense of design, laser focus on our usage and taste, collaborative spirit, budget consciousness AND absolute delightful demeanor all combine to say one thing: there simply aren't enough stars in this review to adequately rate FMA's value!!!

We had a wonderful experience working with Fred and we highly recommend his design services. I wanted a spa like master bathroom and a statement powder room and he delivered on both bathrooms (in addition to the other work). Choosing cabinetry, faucets, finishes, carpets and colors can be overwhelming but with Fred's guidance it was an enjoyable process. Fred did more than the design; he was very hands on with the construction crew making sure everything was done correctly. If we had any questions, we called Fred first.

Fred listens and gives you the project you want rather than forcing his vision on you. He makes your vision the best it can be, and he does so at a very reasonable rate and with attention to detail. He gives you a lot of his time and energy and is responsive to your communications. He has great vision and can explain things well.

Fred is a joy and an inspiration to work with. I came to our kitchen project with my own ideas and wasn’t sure about working with a designer but he added value every step of the way. He incorporated my ideas and at times suggested selections I liked even better. He seemed to always be on the look-out for materials or ideas that we would like and he was spot on with our taste and what was important to us. He looked for ways to save money where possible and splurge a little where it would have a big impact. Looking back I’m not sure how I would have navigated aspects of the process without his expertise and experience. We had a great experience and absolutely love our new kitchen. Fred’s input is the reason it gets oohs and aahs from everyone who has seen it. I highly recommend Fred for kitchen design and I’m already planning to hire him again for a bathroom.

I work photographing interiors...primarily kitchens. Most of the work I get hired for is relatively very good, high end projects. When Fred hired me to photograph his work, it was beyond good, it was WOW, GREAT! It takes a lot to get this photographer excited about photographing a kitchen....everything from the layout, to the details (appliances, moldings, etc.) were perfect. If a project ends up on my website, it's got to be fabulous, and this of course was and did. Can't wait to see what's next Fred!
