This step-down family room features a coffered ceiling and a fireplace with a black slate hearth. We made the fireplace’s surround and mantle to match the raised paneled doors on the built-in storage cabinets on the right. For a unified look and to create a subtle focal point, we added moulding to the rest of the wall and above the fireplace.

The front elevation after the remodel, close to the same location as the 'before' image. We added a master suite to the front of the home, with large windows to capture the hilly vista beyond. The stained cedar siding at the corner pays homage to humble cabin this home once was.

Attica Furnishings staged this home renovation project by architect Peter Braithwaite, located in the historic South End of Halifax, Nova Scotia, near the cities largest municipal park. The project was a complete redesign and transformation of a dated house in a traditional neighborhood into a contemporary residence. The design intent was to pay homage to the historical neighborhood by maintaining the original form of the structure while modernizing the aesthetic and detailing. Painting by Christopher Joyce.

Paying due respect to a vintage 1960’s modern house, this project renovated the original structure while opening its interior to a spacious addition to accommodate casual living spaces and additional bedrooms for the client’s growing family. The property is located 30 minutes by train from Grand Central Station, but the large trees and proximity to the Hudson River lend the setting a bucolic feel.

A retro 1950’s kitchen featuring green custom colored cabinets with glass door mounts, under cabinet lighting, pull-out drawers, and Lazy Susans. To contrast with the green we added in red window treatments, a toaster oven, and other small red polka dot accessories. A few final touches we made include a retro fridge, retro oven, retro dishwasher, an apron sink, light quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash, and retro tile flooring.

This stunning compound of cottages located in the heart of Fredericksburg is to mirror the architectural styles evident in the area. While paying homage to the folk victorian to a more rustic barn look, there are three designs to choose from so each Fredericksburg visit can be in a differently styled B&B.

Built in library shelves provide separation and a chance to show off our client's admirable collection.
Having removed the original wall separating the living and kitchen spaces, we chose to install the exposed and beautifully stained beam, which helps to maintain some divide between the two rooms.

This light and airy kitchen is the definition of elegance. It has white shaker cabinets with satin gold pulls topped with white quartz counters. The matching white quartz backsplash provides a clean look. The center piece of the room is the large island! With seating for four, the deep blue island is loaded with storage and has a drawer microwave. For a special touch on the white quartz counter, we used an extra thick quartz slab. The striking gold pendants are from Ferguson Lighting.
