Relax in this inviting kitchen with built in granite peninsula. The customer's main concern was creating an updated appearance with additional storage and functional countertops. The warm pecan tones of the cabinets complement the gold hues in the duraceramic flooring. The Alaska white granite brings the duraceramic, countertops, and backslash together to create a cohesive look.

A 43” diameter heritage pecan guided the plan of this neighborhood-scaled, modestly-priced, single-story, L-shaped house. In Austin’s seemingly perpetual drought, the goal was to create a symbiotic relationship between house and tree: to complement, not combat each other. The roof’s east/west parallel ridges create a valley directly across from the base, where water is collected at a grate, nourishing the tree. The roof also maximizes south facing surfaces, elevated at 15 degrees for future solar collection. The open, public spaces of the home maximize the north-south light. The private zone of the bedrooms and bathrooms include a generous gallery; its angled walls and large sliding doors are faceted about the tree. The pecan becomes a central focus for indoor and outdoor living, participating in the house in both plan and section. The design welcomes and nurtures the tree as integral to its success. In this master bath renovation, we installed Medallion Gold Brookhill Door Style in Cherry Wood with Pecan Stain. The countertop is Cambria Laneshaw Quartz with 2cm splash accented with a white sink and Moen widespread Kingsley brushed nickle faucet. A Kohler Memoirs toilet was installed. Bordeux Crème 10x14 tiles were used on the shower walls and 13x13 Bordeux Crème tile was used on the bathroom floor with 4x4 Slaty accents. Bliss Amber Tea Blend Linear Glass Slate Mosiac was used for the accent tile in the shower. Slaty 2x2 Multicolor Mosaic tile was used for the shower floor.
