This one-of-a-kind wall portrait measures 20" x 16". The handsome and sporting gent with handlebar mustache poses proudly next to his penny farthing bicycle. Perhaps he was posing before the big race, or after with defeat or triumph? We will never know for the image dates about 1890. What we do know is that he is eternally and heroically memorialized in this one of a kind recreated gold-tinted metal portrait. Originally, tintype portraits were made from the 1850's - 1900's, only a few inches tall and were printed with the wet plate collodion process, which these are not. I custom print my tintypes and age them with vintage tools, elbow grease and love so that they are large enough to hang and create a conversation piece in your home or office. All images come from my personal archive. Each piece has character, peculiarities and a weathered look from aging techniques and are meant to feel like they were made in 1800's. No two are alike. It's very difficult to photograph metal, so please don't hesitate to ask any questions regarding these. Scuff's, scrapes, a smidgen of rust are all part of the details. Every nook and cranny of this peculiarly-shaped space had to be utilized for function and storage – a combination of cabinet styles provides an opportunity to merge planes together to create pull-outs, hidden compartments, and an appliance barn. Color reigns in this family! Fine Focus Photography

Fanned floor plans procure expansive views but generate narrow, long and curved rooms that challenge conventional layouts. This solution capitalized on the peculiarities of the space by presenting itself as an organic derivation of it.

WOOD WORKTOPS WOODSTURDY ASH IS A NON-DIFFERENTIATED HEARTWOOD SPECIES. THE “COLOURED HEART” THAT DEVELOPS LATER IN TIME IS AN OPTIONAL CHARACTER AND IN EUROPEAN ASHES RANGES FROM A GREY-BROWN TO AN OLIVE-LIKE COLOUR. BECAUSE OF ITS RESEMBLANCE WITH THE OLIVE TREE, ITS BOTANICAL RELATIVE, TREE TRUNKS THAT PRESENT THESE PECULIAR VEINS ARE CALLED OLIVE ASH WOODS.

The sofa Auto-reverse by Arketipo Firenze, versatile and with a strong personality, derives from the idea of expressing a double soul in the living area. Its apparent casual and untidy look is in contrast with the order and extreme care for the details, to obtain an object with a sharp style and of high quality. The thin structure, elegant and discreet, enwraps and contains the seat cushions, the back and the arms, emphasized by flounces all around the perimeter which grant a definite movement to the line and add a tactile and visual softness to the sofa. The important zip, applied to the four sides of the cushions, fastens the two-sided cover, one in leather and one in fabric, gives rigour to the sofa and underlines its peculiar design. The result is a sofa in which the softness and warmth of the fabric coexists with the elegance of leather. A peculiar mix of materials to create different chromatic combinations and sophisticated matches. The structure seems to float above the ground thanks to the thin, minimal feet made of square section metal.

The existing layout posed peculiar challenges, with an "L" shaped configuration and a cramped shower area. Strikingly, the absence of windows pushed us to explore inventive design concepts.

The entrance of the villa is simply spectacular featuring a net contrast between white and black. The peculiarity of the project is the combination of marble and wood, an essential mix to make a unique and amazing interior furnishing.

As the core of Atlanta becomes more and more dense, options for new single-family homes are often limited to building unsustainably through demolition of existing homes. However, scattered around the city core are undeveloped sites considered “unbuildable", often because of jurisdictionally imposed restraints i.e. zoning setbacks, riparian stream buffers, peculiar lot configurations and difficult site features. Comparably, for this 12,401 sq. ft. site, zoning setbacks and riparian buffer restraints imposed on the lot's status as an undeveloped, legal, residential lot-of-record, rendered the property “unbuildable”. Not a single square foot of the site met jurisdictional requirements for “buildable”. Furthermore, the stream along the front of the site precluded construction access and the steep terrain was foreboding.

The 2-storey room addition by the previous owners matched the fenestration of the 2-storey home but the family room looked peculiar, as if the upper floor had been removed. Adding a catwalk book nook with a spiral stair access normalized the window arrangement and the altered proportions created a more appropriate vibe for the family space

This tree sat in a peculiar place, right in between two sets of power lines. It wasn't safe to climb and remove so we called in a little help with this big crane!
