This thoughtfully layered bedroom blends classic elements with playful color and texture. A sculptural wire light fixture adds visual interest overhead, complemented by woven Roman shades that softly filter natural light. A black painted nightstand is styled with a brick red table lamp and blue print artwork in a warm wood frame. An off-white upholstered headboard with nailhead trim anchors the space, while blue and orange patterned pillows, a chunky knit throw, and a traditional rug with blue accents create a cozy, inviting retreat. Completed in late 2019, this new residence features and elegant and understated landscape design to fit well with the transitional and modern aspects of the house. Major design elements and aspects included are simplified plantings, stone walkways, custom lanterns, brick privacy wall, swimming pool garden, outdoor seating, play area, synthetic lawn, privacy screening, decorative planters, sport court, decorative driveway and porte cochere. The residence creates a balance between clean design lines and a functional family residence with plenty of play room for the kids and dogs.

This little boys’ bath afforded us the opportunity to embrace playfulness and vibrant pops of colors. Sunshine hued cabinetry, natural brass accents, and turquoise mermaid tail tiles all play nicely with the sea-creature wallpaper and a classic mosaic hex floor.

This 14,000 square foot Holmby Hills residence was an exciting opportunity to play with its classical footprint while adding in modern elements creating a customized home with a mixture of casual and formal spaces throughout.

This adorable en suite girls bedroom and bath is designed for a little girl to grow and flourish into a young lady. Fine furniture, such as the Hickory Chair poster bed and night stands, are classic pieces that are timeless and can be adorned with other linens down the road. Simple, velvet ruched coverlet from Pottery Barn Kids, playful pillows, and a second coverlet, from Pine Cone Hill, adorn the cozy bed. This adorable beach cottage is in the heart of the village of La Jolla in San Diego. The goals were to brighten up the space and be the perfect beach get-away for the client whose permanent residence is in Arizona. Some of the ways we achieved the goals was to place an extra high custom board and batten in the great room and by refinishing the kitchen cabinets (which were in excellent shape) white. We created interest through extreme proportions and contrast. Though there are a lot of white elements, they are all offset by a smaller portion of very dark elements. We also played with texture and pattern through wallpaper, natural reclaimed wood elements and rugs. This was all kept in balance by using a simplified color palate minimal layering. I am so grateful for this client as they were extremely trusting and open to ideas.
