This 14,000 square foot Holmby Hills residence was an exciting opportunity to play with its classical footprint while adding in modern elements creating a customized home with a mixture of casual and formal spaces throughout.

The children’s playroom was the former dining room plus an addition. The new vaulted ceiling and open space with soft furnishings creates fun place to play and tumble or watch tv. The fun collection of pebble-shaped ottomans are easily moved around and have become a part of the creative play. The large windows provide views of wildlife in the park like setting. Custom cabinets by Woodharbor provide both open and closed toy storage. By continuing the wood type and stain color we create connection from room to room. The door style is the more casual Long Beach— a classic slab style.

Keeping all interior furnishing at a low profile so that your eye stays focused on the crystal blue Pacific. Adding natural furs and playful colors to the homes neutral palate kept the space warm and cozy. Plants and trees helped complete the space and allowed “life” to flow inside and out. For the exterior furnishings we chose natural teak and neutral colors, but added pops of orange to contrast against the bright blue skyline. A baby boy’s nursery we designed has both plenty of functional and comfortable features. Through plenty of soft textiles - cushions, chairs, and blankets - we gave the space a calming ambiance with plenty of neutral greys and pops of soft blues. For a timeless look, we installed classic wall panels, which showcase a fun, eye-popping contrast between the panel outline and wall. An upholstered storage bench was also installed, ensuring easy clean-up of toys and other accessories, as well as an extra place to sit and play with the baby boy. Home located in Studio City, California. Project designed by Miami interior design firm, Charles Neal Interiors. They serve nationwide, with much activity in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach, as well as Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta.

Playing off the popular Nordic Modern trend, the simple, rounded lines of Fischer bar stool make it a fit in just about any decor. The gently rounded ergonomic shape is crafted from solid beech wood and features a classic woven-rope seat. It’s shown in the Natural finish.

Located in the heart of Carnegie Hill, this Upper East Side Townhouse was a full gut renovation for DHD Architecture and Interiors. Throughout the home, a combination of vintage furniture and lighting was mixed with new modern classics to give the rooms an elegant and carefully curated feel. Wallpaper, fabrics, and colors play together in layers, so the formal structure and setting of the home is balanced with varying palettes, contemporary prints, and textured materials. Our favorite elements include the office’s statement making malachite wallpaper, and the master bedroom’s vintage sputnik chandelier that hangs over a walnut four poster bed.
