This modern teenage boy's room is the perfect picture of his personality. His love of music is evident by the guitars and record player that are proudly displayed. Our design team took this vision further by incorporating a modern upholstered king-sized wall bed, guitar artwork, geometric linens and sleek hanging pendants on each side of the bed. A swivel chair in the corner provides a comfortable spot for him to play the guitar and to swivel to face the mountain views if he wishes. A modern desk and computer on the opposite side of the room (not pictured) allow a spot for gaming or for completing homework. Washable linens and a soft textured rug complete the room. The adjoining on-suite bathroom features gray textured tile and acrylic guitar artwork to complete the music themed suite.

This classic Spanish home in South Pasadena was decorated to reflect the homeowners bohemian style, vintage collections, and subtle art deco features in the architecture. Up the ante of your bachelor's retreat (and alternative rooms) aesthetic by adding a meticulously stylised cornice boards. The cornice boards in this house includes (2) different materials, an upholstered wood top molding and absolutely symmetrical handicraft on the curtains. Also, the (4) animal skin wing-backed chairs square measure superbly adorned with nail-heads that are carried throughout the design. This bachelor retreat features a stunning pendant and hand-tufted ottoman table. This house is warm and welcoming and perfect for intimate conversations amongst family and friends for years to come. Please take note - when using cornices, one should decide what proportion return is required. Return is the distance your material hangs away from the wall. Yes, this additionally affects the proportion. Usually, return is 3½ inches. However, larger or taller windows might need a deeper return to avoid the fabric from getting squashed against the wall. An example of a mid-sized transitional formal dining area in Houston, Texas with dark hardwood floors, more, however totally different, large damask wallpaper on the ceiling, (6) custom upholstered striped fabric, scroll back chairs surrounding a gorgeous, glass top dining table, chandelier, artwork and foliage pull this area along for a really elegant, yet masculine space. As for the guest chambers, we carried the inspiration from the bachelor retreat into the space and fabricated (2) more upholstered cornices and custom window treatments, bedding, pillows, upholstered (with nail-heads used in the dining area chairs) headboard, giant damask wallpaper and brown paint. Styling tips: (A) Use nail-heads on furnishings within the alternative rooms to display a reoccurring motif among the house. “Wine & Hockey” is in this family’s blood. Long time Washington Capitals fans and wine collector. They have lived in this prominent golf-course neighborhood for several years and now it comes time to finish their basement. He has been collecting more than thousands of wine bottles from all over the world, possibly worth over a couple hundred thousand -- this is the time that he wanted to display and show it all off. Tailgater and diehard Capitals fan that they are, they own several memorable autographed player jerseys and lots of collectables worth being in hall-of-fame stands. With all these ideas in mind, we have started the construction of this basement. The main event room with big pub style bar fully equipped with a wine cooler, beer fridge, and a built-in wall for all top shelf liquor. Built with dark cherry wood and exquisite stone top under stylish pendent lights is a heart of this space. A hidden storage door built with display shelving just to the right of the bar, giving access to storage behind this bar. To the left of this a stone wall, an embedded fireplace giving a cozy feel for seating and gaming area while facing the giant screen TV. This carefully designed wine cellar features the best of the best wine collection in wrapped around mahogany wine racks, beaded stain grade paneling, exotic stone counter, Muriel center stone, equipped with high efficiency chiller system, all just behind custom made door arch panel glass door. “This view is spectacular.” Wide plank flooring throughout leading into the end of hallway. There is a Gym with mirror walls and rubber floors, room to burn off all the wine calories! The full bathroom with stoned shower, and immaculate fixtures just outside of the gym. The lighting effect is a highlight of this project. We designed a feature wall for framed memorable jerseys and hidden storage for all of their valued VCR tapes of capital games. This basement is not a regular space, but it is a hall of fame for Hockey and Wine.

By Steve Crowe, March 08, 2013 Sound Design Builds State-of-the-Art Showroom for 20th Anniversary To celebrate it's 20th anniversary, Sound Design built a 6,500-square-foot showroom in Horseshoe Bay, Texas to demo technology in a "relaxing, luxurious ambience that appeals to our local clientele." Sound Design, a custom installer with offices in Horseshoe Bay and Lakeway, Texas, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a big way: with the opening of a 4,500-square-foot showroom on April 1, 2013. The state-of-the-art space will be a “veritable candy land” that includes Elan g!, Planar, Runco, Sunfire and many more top-of-the-line brands. “We’ve learned a lot over the years, and our experience helped us design the new showroom in a way that presents a relaxing, luxurious ambience that appeals to our local clientele,” says Sound Design owner Chris Bean. “We used the best-of-the-best in every category, from the Runco 63-inch plasma TV framed and hidden by a VisionArt motorized art print to the ultra-high-end CAT MBX Sequoia speakers and of course the ELAN g! system.” The showroom’s entrance living room features A/V and lighting control from an Elan TS10 10-inch in-wall touchscreen, an Elan TS2 in-wall touchscreen and Elan HR2 handheld remote. The system distributes audio and video content to a system consisting of a Runco V63 63-inch plasma display, a Planar 2x3 Matrix Wall with six 46-inch panels, a Planar Mosaic wall with four 46-inch panels and four 15-inch square panels, a two-channel audio system that uses two 7-foot-tall CAT MBX Sequoia’s, and a surround system that includes an Integra DTR 50.4 receiver, Newport speakers and two Sunfire HRS-12 subwoofers. “Many of our clients are tech-savvy homeowners who have become mobile tech enthusiasts through their everyday interactions with iPhones and tablets, and they want that same instant satisfaction to apply to their household media and home functions,” says Bean. “Just a few years ago, the most common client request was for an amazing home theater to enjoy the newest DVDs or Blu-rays. Featuring AboutGolf’s newest three-projector continuous curve screen golf simulator, a LaserShot shooting simulator with five-channel surround and 30 competitive games for two players, and a VRX iMotion triple-LCD display driving & flight simulator, this room is a virtual playground. “The simulation room is a step forward for CI showroom design and for our company, and it allows us to open the imagination of our clients to show them that anything is possible,” says Bean. “Homeowners in Horseshoe Bay are all about recreation and a luxury lifestyle, so we wanted to show the unique ways people could enhance their home’s fun factor. From controlling lighting, heating and surveillance cameras on an iPhone to a hyper-realistic golf simulator that makes you feel like you’re really teeing off on the course, our Horseshoe Bay showroom is as state-of-the-art as it can be.” Sound Design also built a commercial-quality home theater that uses a Display Development HD3 projector, a 184-inch Stewart Filmscreen Luxus Delux screen, a Kaleidescape M300 player connected to a Kaleidescape CinemaOne server in the lobby, a Theta Casablanca III preamp/processor, Theta Compli-blu Blu-ray player, a PrimaCinema server, and a bevy of California Audio Technology speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers.

A young couple living in Rochester Hills were unhappy with their living room and dining room space, feeling like they didn’t truly reflect their taste, personality, or lifestyle. So, they came to Horizon Interior Design for help! They wanted new furnishings and décor that matched their taste and would feel more inviting for friends and family, allowing them to host holiday gatherings comfortably. Another issue they had was unused space at the end of their room, which they weren’t sure what to do with, and a severe lack of storage space and spots to display their collection of décor and photos. As a record collector and music lover, it made sense to transform the dead space at the end of their living room into a music lounge area with two lounge chairs and a space for a vintage record player. We also incorporated Irish wall art and an ottoman tray from their home city in Ireland. Drawn to the simplicity of mid-century modern design, we added lovely pops of color into the space with a bright rug, chairs, and pillows. We also added a beautiful set of bookcases with closed storage to flank the fireplace and add more display space. We also added an extension dining table, sectional, and accent chairs to accommodate large family gatherings. Now the space perfectly mirrored this couple and their tastes.
