The original house had a wood burning masonry fireplace in the same location, but the client wanted a sleeker look and a more energy efficient (and less polluting) option.

Hanging plants in baskets can bring a sense of serenity and beauty to your environment. They also improve overall air quality by filtering out pollutants and can relieve stress by just having a space to chill in.

Architectural lighting designed to evenly illuminate the home's key features. Our exclusive roof mounting system is screw-less and allows us to get up close to the structure which avoids light pollution into the windows.

Pollution doesn’t just happen outdoors, but inside your home as well. Skylights can improve the health of your home.

The rear of the house catches the sunset at an angle, and the sun casts a golden-orange light on the walls within as the it's refracted through the polluted air of Metro Vancouver.

The client's favorite colors of light blue, red and pink were used to created a lovely fresh and traditional living room. The colors were carefully selected to complement her existing oriental rugs and quilts.

Set in Montana's tranquil Shields River Valley, the Shilo Ranch Compound is a collection of structures that were specifically built on a relatively smaller scale, to maximize efficiency. The main house has two bedrooms, a living area, dining and kitchen, bath and adjacent greenhouse, while two guest homes within the compound can sleep a total of 12 friends and family. There's also a common gathering hall, for dinners, games, and time together. The overall feel here is of sophisticated simplicity, with plaster walls, concrete and wood floors, and weathered boards for exteriors. The placement of each building was considered closely when envisioning how people would move through the property, based on anticipated needs and interests. Sustainability and consumption was also taken into consideration, as evidenced by the photovoltaic panels on roof of the garage, and the capability to shut down any of the compound's buildings when not in use.

In the dining room we carried through the statement fabric for the custom made valence that was used in the living room. We used simple sheers on the bottom section of the window as a cost saving measure as shades were not needed here.

A before picture of the living room window treatment. There are heating pipes that run above the corners of the window to service the radiator. Now that new construction in the form of high rises has been built across the park the light at night would glare through her windows which was quite jarring.

This property’s undulating hillside enabled Deck & Patio to create an “amphitheater-like” environment with two spectacular water features: a 6-foot-high waterfall into the pool, and a 4-foot-high cascading waterfall from the spa into the pool.
These large water features not only present a visual impact from every viewing angle, but the enhanced sound effect of the cascading waters minimizes the noise pollution coming from a nearby heavily trafficked road. www.deckandpatio.com

These urban outdoor spaces create an oasis in the midst of the city. using lush, pollution and drought tolerant plants and trees makes for a low maintenance green space that is easy to relax in.
