Garden Cult

My wife and I undertook an extensive renovation of our Brooklyn backyard in 2022, a project that took almost a year and a half. Throughout that time, we worked closely with Carmen on the design -- both hardscaping and landscaping -- so that we had ample space for our son to play, to host friends, and to plant trees, shrubs, and flowers. Carmen knocked the design out of the park! She brought creative ideas that solved for all our requests, and in a way that truly preserved the historic nature of our home while incorporating modern elements. She also worked closely and collaboratively with our contractor, which is so important for a successful project -- and our peace of mind! A year later, our backyard is flourishing, and our family is using and enjoying the space more than ever. Everything continues to be incredibly lush and robust, more than we ever imagined. I must add that the garden also continues to be VERY low maintenance, one of early requests. I routinely call Carmen for help, and she provides sound, practical advice on how to ensure our urban oasis continues to thrive. We are lucky to have found Carmen and cannot recommend Garden Cult more highly.

Carmen helped me transform my garden in ways I never would have imagined! I dreamed of creating a personal retreat, but I have a large space with many "problem areas" and was unsure of where to begin to make it a reality. Most importantly, Carmen is a pleasure to work with - she was very patient in answering all my questions, and her enthusiasm for all things garden-related is so motivating that after consulting with her I couldn't wait to get started on making her design a reality. I am looking forward to enjoying my garden for years to come!

Carmen was an huge help in designing my back deck and garden area. I could not visualize what would work and she respected all my limitations when she proposed the perfect layout, plants, concept and elements to complete my space.
