We completed this whole home renovation for this incredible client, which included custom built in shelving and bookcases in the beautiful 24x30 great room, just shy of 1700 sq ft of site finished white oak, a staircase remodel, a half bath, new trim(base, casing & crown mouldings!) throughout, removal of 2 walls, a fireplace update and countless small details. This sleek contemporary staircase pairs rich ebony-stained oak with satin black horizontal iron balusters for a striking modern aesthetic. Square oak newels with chamfered tops anchor the design, while thick contemporary oak treads provide substantial footing. The ebony-stained custom handrails tie the dark tones together, creating visual cohesion from bottom to top. Contemporary front entry with custom lit posts made of tube steel and stainless steel cables with lights at bottom in Plexiglas cone and in top. Custom round metal wire beam and tube steel support for cone roof with Hope steel windows and doors. This project was a major transformation to the existing residence. It contained an addition of a two car garage, another bay at the back for an artist shop, laundry room and mud room off the garage connecting with a new front entry on the main level. The front entry has a grand stair that splits half way up serving the existing house and a new access to the master suite as well as the second level of the garage addition. This second level contains an art studio with close off rooms for grandkids a sitting area, and a full bath with two sinks. At the same time, the entire existing house was remodeled and most all rooms were relocated and re-arranged to accommodate a new kitchen, a family room, two guest rooms with baths on suite and a new master bedroom and bath on the upper level.

A load bearing post is located in the middle of the basement and because it could not be moved, a design decision was made to incorporate it into the room divider cabinets. The left side post and base cabinet house the necessary post but conceals it in a beautiful way!

Port Eliot English Bamboo Bookcase, Olde Timber w. 51", d. 18 ¾" ht. 84" This two piece unit is very well conceived, inspired by the Brighton Pavilion in Southern England. The clean top with bamboo turnings, adjustable shelves and plank interior back. The base with fret on each door and continuous flow bamboo turnings on the posts.
