rhaps you can turn the basement of a house into a wonderful hangout space for a teenager and his friends. It’s a beautiful and modern man cave with tons of cool features that provide hours upon hours of entertainment and it looks magnificent too. The architects used timber to create a big wave-inspired wall and to add texture and warmth to the basement and they also made use of LED lights, bold colors and beautiful decorations to bring the space to life.

This sophisticated game room provides hours of play for a young and active family. The black, white and beige color scheme adds a masculine touch. Wood and iron accents are repeated throughout the room in the armchairs, pool table, pool table light fixture and in the custom built in bar counter. This pool table also accommodates a ping pong table top, as well, which is a great option when space doesn't permit a separate pool table and ping pong table. Since this game room loft area overlooks the home's foyer and formal living room, the modern color scheme unites the spaces and provides continuity of design. A custom white oak bar counter and iron barstools finish the space and create a comfortable hangout spot for watching a friendly game of pool.

This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. It appears the boy was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Or was he? His face explodes with enthusiasm; as if he’s having the time of his life. In Kansas tornadoes are a yearly event, it’s as predictable as clouds, you are just going to have them. Perhaps the boy saw the tornado and conceived the idea on the spot. Instead of running for cover, he embraced the challenge! He is going to have fun, always; not mater the circumstances.

With 30' soaring ceiling heights, five levels, winding paths of travel and tight stairways, no storage at all, very little usable wall space, a tight timeline, and a very modest budget, we had our work cut out for us. The college man who inspired this suite studied countless hours in a day. We believed the bedroom should reflect his rigorousness and dedication, yet with a touch of whimsy. The gray wall covering was procured through Jim Thompson. The subtle contrast between the lighter and darker stripes is quite soothing to the eye. We opted for a flannel-upholstered daybed from Donghia which doubles as a comfortable place to read. The diverse and eclectic art and accessories collection comprising contemporary pieces and vintage objects was carefully assembled. We intentionally mixed pieces that symbolize a young man’s coming age, from sentimental childhood memories to sophisticated adult choices. Geometric area rug from Michaelian & Kohlberg.
