At Jemo Design, we take pride in delivering bespoke luxury interiors that perfectly balance elegance and functionality. This stunning Victorian-inspired living room was meticulously designed and produced for a private client based in Shanghai. Reflecting timeless grandeur, the space features rich detailing, exquisite furnishings, and a majestic chandelier that serves as the room’s focal point.

This project was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by Gappsi for a private residence in Southampton, NY. The over sized lazy L-shaped gunite swimming pool is built in line with the house's diagonal angles, complementing the modern look of the multi-level home. Each side of the swimming pool makes for perfect view from all the windows in the house. Gunite swimming pools, besides being very beautiful, are also very functional and can include many different features. This pool includes a large sundeck with 12 inches of water for chairs and benches in the shallow area. An elevated spa was also added in the center of the sundeck with a spill over on all four sides. LED lights were also added throughout the pool, and the pool surface consists of Diamond Brite Tahoe Blue quartz finish. The edge of the pool was finished with bluestone coping and waterline porcelain tiles, and the pool was fitted with a saltwater chlorine generator system and a propane gas heater. The surrounding of the pool was completed with a patio to compliment the swimming pool layout, and was built with limestone natural pavers. Laminar deck jet water features were placed around the pool creating a park-like effect in the day, and at night, a stream of light travels through the water spilling in the swimming pool. The deep end of the gunite swimming pool is regulation for diving with an 8-foot gray colored diving board and a flight deck base. The Clients, a married couple, required a house for themselves and occasional family guests. The house is organized to allow for a visual connection with a very public Strand and Beach, while providing more private domains for entertaining and personal habitation. Purposefully Orchestrated Experience Opening the house to the sky and the ocean is the principal way that this house reveals its inner spatial experience. A composition of articulated shapes organized over a solid base. Exterior elevations are a composition of solid, rectilinear stucco elements that are strategically subtracted to reveal a contrasting, inner layer of sloping, cedar siding, glazed window walls and cantilevered deck platforms; all organized over a base of porcelain tile. A minimal insertion into a densely wooded landscape, the Collector’s Pavilion provides the owners with an 8,000 sf private fitness space and vintage automobile gallery. On a gently sloping site in amongst a grove of trees, the pavilion slides into the topography - mimicking and contrasting the surrounding landscape with a folded roof plane that hovers over a board formed concrete base. The clients’ requirement for a nearby room to display a growing car collection as well as provide a remote area for personal fitness carries with it a series of challenges related to privacy and security. The pavilion nestles into the wooded site - finding a home in a small clearing - and merges with the sloping landscape. The building has dual personalities, serving as a private and secure bunker from the exterior, while transforming into a warm and inviting space on the interior. The use of indirect light and the need to obscure direct views from the public right away provides the client with adequate day light for day-to-day use while ensuring that strict privacy is maintained. This shifting personality is also dramatically affected by the seasons - contrasting and merging with the surrounding environment depending on the time of year. The Collector’s Pavilion employs meticulous detailing of its concrete to steel to wood connections, exploring the grounded nature of poured concrete in conjunction with a delicate wood roof system that floats above a grid of steel. Above all, the Pavilion harmonizes with it’s natural surroundings through it’s materiality, formal language, and siting.
