The massive granite boulder at the North end of the pool was actually the starting point of the design for the entire project. Ron walked the lot in it's natural state and felt placing the pool at the base of this impressive upside down pyramid granite boulder was vital to the feel and flow of every other element of this home. The owners agreed and now, tucked deep into the natural boulder pile the pool is so private most people on the golf course never realize it's there.

This kitchen remodel was all about transformation—turning a dark, outdated space into a warm and inviting hub that perfectly balances function and style. For this blended family, the goal was to create a kitchen that reflected both clients' unique styles, merging industrial and modern elements while maintaining consistency with the surrounding spaces. Storage and organization were key priorities, ensuring the kitchen could handle the demands of a bustling household. Working alongside our designer, Vicki, the clients crafted a space that not only meets their practical needs but also embodies their vision. With a big family and a love for cooking and entertaining, the homeowners wanted a space that felt like their own private restaurant—stylish yet welcoming, with rich wood tones, striking contrast, and plenty of character. The end result? A beautifully curated kitchen that seamlessly blends form and function based on the clients’ vision. Additionally, we installed LVT flooring, which combines the beauty of wood grain with the practicality of easy maintenance for our clients. Every detail, from the thoughtfully placed pendant lighting to the functional layout of the cabinetry, enhances the kitchen’s usability and charm.

A Vermont Guest House Project which involved renovation to an existing art studio (see existing photos)and an addition to house the bedroom area and loft. The Architectural and Interior Design concepts were developed by Mitra Designs Studio Collaborative(me), a design firm based in Vermont. This building is located on a 160-acre private property. The guest house sits on beautiful rocky ledges, looking over the spectacular view of the Adirondack Mountains, a pond, and Vermont farm fields. The homeowners are Americans who work and live in Hongkong and come to their Vermont home several times a year to get away from the hustle bustles of the concrete city of Hongkong, ( please note that their main house is a short walk to this guest house). The goal of the design was to create a Guest House and a Forest retreat with subtle influences of a modern tree-house and a theme where east-meets-west! The original studio was not insulated and did not have plumbing, as you can see in the photos plumbing was added as part of the renovation and the building was insulated very tightly. All built-ins including the queen bed and two children's bed was custom designed by Mitra. Much of the design concepts were created artfully to bring the outdoors indoors. The bathroom theme of concrete counters and river stone pebble flooring suggests subtle influences of a river that is surrounded with rocks; Mitra selected mid-century furniture to further complement this clean and modern forest retreat. A local artist was commissioned to take artful photographs from the natural surroundings of this property. Her photographs were then infused on a floating brushed chrome plate. There are many stories to be given about this wonderful project and I will be happy to speak with you and provide you with any other information you may need. Photo credit Susan Teare Photography

Natural wood lapped siding emphasizes this homes more modern elements, while classic white board & batten covers the core of this house. Featuring a grey stone fireplace, tall windows, and vaulted wood ceiling, the living room bridges between the kitchen and den. The kitchen picks up some mid-century through the use of flat-faced upper and lower cabinets with chrome pulls. Energize an all-white living room with one eye-popping work of art. Use the vibrancy of the artwork to achieve the overall feeling you’re looking for. The tertiary palette of this print, SAMBRA, maximizes the sophisticated glamour of this design aesthetic.
SAMBRA is one of ten images from the AMAZU series. Printed with archival pigments on synthetic silk and mounted on dibond aluminum, no glass is required. Ready to hang, a recessed wood frame backing with hanging wire allows the piece to float 1.25 inch off the wall.

They are done in large panoramic format with painting, drawing, scissor cut forms, and fragments of mass media images (two sizes, editions of 20). The series title, AMAZU, comes from the Ibo of Nigeria and means "no one knows everything." With work in MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum, and public and private collections, Fromartz lives and works in New York City.

Resting upon a 120-acre rural hillside, this 17,500 square-foot residence has unencumbered mountain views to the east, south and west. The exterior design palette for the public side is a more formal Tudor style of architecture, including intricate brick detailing; while the materials for the private side tend toward a more casual mountain-home style of architecture with a natural stone base and hand-cut wood siding.
Primary living spaces and the master bedroom suite, are located on the main level, with guest accommodations on the upper floor of the main house and upper floor of the garage. The interior material palette was carefully chosen to match the stunning collection of antique furniture and artifacts, gathered from around the country. From the elegant kitchen to the cozy screened porch, this residence captures the beauty of the White Mountains and embodies classic New Hampshire living.

Originally built in 1990 the Heady Lakehouse began as a 2,800SF family retreat and now encompasses over 5,635SF. It is located on a steep yet welcoming lot overlooking a cove on Lake Hartwell that pulls you in through retaining walls wrapped with White Brick into a courtyard laid with concrete pavers in an Ashlar Pattern. This whole home renovation allowed us the opportunity to completely enhance the exterior of the home with all new LP Smartside painted with Amherst Gray with trim to match the Quaker new bone white windows for a subtle contrast. You enter the home under a vaulted tongue and groove white washed ceiling facing an entry door surrounded by White brick.
Once inside you’re encompassed by an abundance of natural light flooding in from across the living area from the 9’ triple door with transom windows above. As you make your way into the living area the ceiling opens up to a coffered ceiling which plays off of the 42” fireplace that is situated perpendicular to the dining area. The open layout provides a view into the kitchen as well as the sunroom with floor to ceiling windows boasting panoramic views of the lake. Looking back you see the elegant touches to the kitchen with Quartzite tops, all brass hardware to match the lighting throughout, and a large 4’x8’ Santorini Blue painted island with turned legs to provide a note of color.
The owner’s suite is situated separate to one side of the home allowing a quiet retreat for the homeowners. Details such as the nickel gap accented bed wall, brass wall mounted bed-side lamps, and a large triple window complete the bedroom. Access to the study through the master bedroom further enhances the idea of a private space for the owners to work. It’s bathroom features clean white vanities with Quartz counter tops, brass hardware and fixtures, an obscure glass enclosed shower with natural light, and a separate toilet room.
The left side of the home received the largest addition which included a new over-sized 3 bay garage with a dog washing shower, a new side entry with stair to the upper and a new laundry room. Over these areas, the stair will lead you to two new guest suites featuring a Jack & Jill Bathroom and their own Lounging and Play Area.
The focal point for entertainment is the lower level which features a bar and seating area. Opposite the bar you walk out on the concrete pavers to a covered outdoor kitchen feature a 48” grill, Large Big Green Egg smoker, 30” Diameter Evo Flat-top Grill, and a sink all surrounded by granite countertops that sit atop a white brick base with stainless steel access doors. The kitchen overlooks a 60” gas fire pit that sits adjacent to a custom gunite eight sided hot tub with travertine coping that looks out to the lake. This elegant and timeless approach to this 5,000SF three level addition and renovation allowed the owner to add multiple sleeping and entertainment areas while rejuvenating a beautiful lake front lot with subtle contrasting colors.
