Inspiration for a mid-sized transitional white tile and porcelain tile porcelain tile, white floor and single-sink bathroom remodel in Chicago with shaker cabinets, blue cabinets, gray walls, an undermount sink, quartz countertops, a hinged shower door, white countertops and a freestanding vanity

This kitchen was inspired by a french countryside cottage. We used traditional design elements, warm worn finishes, along with french industrial lighting fixtures to bring a magical element to this space. Bright patterns, bold pops of color, and unique trim details bring life to the living space.

Karen transformed her front yard with 100% drought-tolerant landscaping, using water-wise plants and a wide variety of natural stone materials. Cobble, rubble, pebble, flagstone and crushed rock were combined to create a dry streambed that adds a fluid movement to the yard. A basalt fountain water feature was positioned near the entry.
Since Karen’s home is part of a Homeowner’s Association, speed was essential to the project. She hired Laura Eubanks of Design for Serenity to facilitate the quick turnaround, completing the project in just 5 days. Design for Serenity designed and installed the beautiful landscaping and succulent tapestries, while Karen herself selected the stone.
Karen thinks of landscape rock as a form of art, considering it to be one of the most important elements in her project. She spent several hours with Laura’s team selecting the perfect boulders and materials from our Fallbrook yard. Her hard work paid off: Karen’s guests and HOA neighbors all raved about the impact of natural stone in this total yard transformation.

Ward Jewell, AIA was asked to design a comfortable one-story stone and wood pool house that was "barn-like" in keeping with the owner’s gentleman farmer concept. Thus, Mr. Jewell was inspired to create an elegant New England Stone Farm House designed to provide an exceptional environment for them to live, entertain, cook and swim in the large reflection lap pool.
Mr. Jewell envisioned a dramatic vaulted great room with hand selected 200 year old reclaimed wood beams and 10 foot tall pocketing French doors that would connect the house to a pool, deck areas, loggia and lush garden spaces, thus bringing the outdoors in. A large cupola “lantern clerestory” in the main vaulted ceiling casts a natural warm light over the graceful room below. The rustic walk-in stone fireplace provides a central focal point for the inviting living room lounge. Important to the functionality of the pool house are a chef’s working farm kitchen with open cabinetry, free-standing stove and a soapstone topped central island with bar height seating. Grey washed barn doors glide open to reveal a vaulted and beamed quilting room with full bath and a vaulted and beamed library/guest room with full bath that bookend the main space.
The private garden expanded and evolved over time. After purchasing two adjacent lots, the owners decided to redesign the garden and unify it by eliminating the tennis court, relocating the pool and building an inspired "barn". The concept behind the garden’s new design came from Thomas Jefferson’s home at Monticello with its wandering paths, orchards, and experimental vegetable garden. As a result this small organic farm, was born. Today the farm produces more than fifty varieties of vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers; many of which are rare and hard to find locally. The farm also grows a wide variety of fruits including plums, pluots, nectarines, apricots, apples, figs, peaches, guavas, avocados (Haas, Fuerte and Reed), olives, pomegranates, persimmons, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and ten different types of citrus. The remaining areas consist of drought-tolerant sweeps of rosemary, lavender, rockrose, and sage all of which attract butterflies and dueling hummingbirds.

The Quarry Mill's Miromar natural thin stone veneer pairs beautifully with the bright colors of the stucco on this stunning building. Miromar is a blend of split face style natural thin stone veneers from two of our quarries. One quarry produces the soft brown and tan tone pieces, whereas, the other quarry produces the pieces with shades of grey. The difference in the color variation within the same stone formation is spectacular as the quarries are only 50 miles apart. Miromar is a 100% split face or machine-cut product; it showcases only the interior part of the natural stone. This stone is naturally a low height ledgestone. Each piece has a natural top and bottom as Miromar is cut from natural sheets of stone with thicknesses of 2”-5”.

This space offers an open floor plan between the living room, dining room, and kitchen.

The Quarry Mill's Bismarck real thin stone veneer creates an open, warm, and welcoming curb appeal on this gorgeous beach home. Bismarck is a natural thin cut limestone veneer in the ashlar style. This popular stone is a mix of two faces or parts of the limestone quarried in two different locations. By blending stones from multiple quarries, we are able to create beautiful and subtle color variations in Bismarck. Although the stone from both quarries is from the same geological formation, one quarry produces the lighter pieces and the other produces the darker pieces. Using the different faces or parts of the stone also sets this blend apart. Some pieces show the exteriors of the natural limestone slabs while others show the interior which has been split with a hydraulic press.
