The outdoor spaces function as an extension of the house and support the family’s casual, sports-oriented lifestyle. The design, for a family of seven, provides spaces for individual privacy and family gatherings. The design challenge was to incorporate a number of sustainable features into the design. The south-facing roof is integrated with a 5-kilowatt photovoltaic system, generating electricity for the home and furnishing emergency backup power. The heating is exclusively radiant with high efficiency boilers partially burning biofuel. Measures taken to produce an efficient building envelope include a drainage plane behind the siding, spray foam insulation, and high performance, insulated window glass.

For this project, the customer envisioned enhancing their kitchen, creating a seamless connection to the living and dining areas, which had been raised. We presented options for the addition, showcasing designs that married simplicity with elegance. The first options featured straightforward roofing solutions, while the final design embraced the home's curves, incorporating the graceful rounded windows, entryway, and chimney. We crafted the addition with a stunning barrel ceiling adorned with rich walnut wood paneling and accent lighting, creating an inviting atmosphere. After careful consideration, the clients chose the more intricate design, perfectly complementing their home's aesthetic. To elevate the space, we added a round window and an arched window in the kitchen, enhancing its character. In the living area, they selected a Nana Wall door, allowing for a harmonious flow between indoors and the outdoor entertainment space. The kitchen showcases exquisite walnut cabinets, accented with white painted cabinets in a sleek shallow shaker style. The 2cm Dekton countertops & backsplash were designed with an island height of 2 1/4 inches, creating a more dynamic space. As passionate cooks and bakers, the clients chose Wolf and SubZero appliances, panel-ready to harmonize beautifully with their kitchen design. This project turned out breathtakingly, and the clients are overjoyed to possess a kitchen that embodies beauty and functionality, exceeding their dreams and aspirations.

The Quarry Mill's Bismarck natural thin stone veneer creates a stunning ranch-style home exterior. Bismarck is a natural thin cut limestone veneer in the ashlar style. This popular stone is a mix of two faces or parts of the limestone quarried in two different locations. By blending stones from multiple quarries, we are able to create beautiful and subtle color variations in Bismarck. Although the stone from both quarries is from the same geological formation, one quarry produces the lighter pieces and the other produces the darker pieces. Using the different faces or parts of the stone also sets this blend apart. Some pieces show the exteriors of the natural limestone slabs while others show the interior which has been split with a hydraulic press.

This Mediterranean Style home features beautiful Natural Stone elements. The Macedonia Limestone grand entryway with entablature is detailed with two pilasters flanking an arched opening topped with a decorative hand carved detail across the top. It is twelve feet in height, nine feet wide, with a depth of two feet of natural stone encasing the arched entry leading into the main hallway of the home. The façade is topped with crown molding at the eave. The first and second story French doors are flanked with Macedonia Limestone molding with keys. The central arched window above the entablature of the front door entry is also flanked with Macedonia Limestone molding and a key at the center of the arch.
