Our client wanted a SIP built home and we incorporated this and many other energy and sustainability features into this home which was in the Sheboygan County Parade of Homes.
Named "The Green Balanced Home", this project was all about creating practical and stunning living spaces that combined with sound environmental building materials and methods. By showcasing an assortment of leading-edge- green technologies, the Green Balanced Home was the talk of the Parade that year. In cooperation with our client, our methodology was:
Start with the site:
1. Protected tree lines
2. Drought resistant vegetation
3. High proportion of natural, plantings versus higher maintenance lawn
4. Optimal home placement on lot for solar exposure
5. Narrower streets
Build a high thermal envelope:
1. R-10 Gold Guard laminated EPS foam under basement, garage, and patio.
2. R-10 Gold Guard laminated EPS foam around exterior foundation walls.
3. R-10 ESP foam "shirt" around foundation
4. R-24 Structural Insulated panels (SIPs) for exterior walls, including garage
5. Sprayed foam in basement box sills and attic separation walls
6. R-15 garage door
7. R-60 blown cellulose attic insulation
Add efficient heating, cooling, ventilation, and electric utilization elements:
1. High efficiency fireplace with auxiliary ducting
2. Pull-out exterior wood-loading drawer
3. Air-to-air heat pump
4. 95% efficient, ultra-quiet variable capacity furnace
5. 19 SEER air conditioner
6. Five zones with programmable thermostats
7. Heat reclamation from hot water usage
8. LED lighting
9. Skylights
10. Energy Star appliances
11. Prep for in-floor heating system
12. Prep for photovoltaic (PV) solar
13. Prep for solar hot water
Incorporate water conservation:
1. Rain water recapture for toilet flushing and irrigation
2. Motion activated hot water circulation system
3. Power flush toilets
4. Dual flush toilets
Create high indoor air quality:
1. HEPA and UV filters
2. Air-to-air exchanger
3. Ultra-quiet bathroom fans with moisture sensor activation
Integrate sustainable, efficient materials:
* Expanded polystyrene (ESP) foam that does not emit HCFC "greenhouse" gases
* Oriented strand board (OSB) based siding, trim, and shutters
* SIPs panels that contain ESP an OSB
* Carpeting pads made from recycled materials
* Stewardship-certified cabinet manufacturing
* Job site recycling and reduce waste with SIPs

The owners of this 1980’s built-home wanted to create a completely new look for their outdated master bath and turned to Renovisions for design and build services. Having perused Renovisions website, they were confident they made the right choice to help them transform their ordinary space into something truly extraordinary. The design team created several configurations for the homeowners review until they nailed down one particular design that would create that wow factor.
The main challenges were creating an open, spacious feel and maximizing natural light and ventilation with plenty of storage and customizations. The addition of a second window allows ample light into the space throughout the day along with the recessed and sconce lights which were perfectly placed. Storage, which was a key element of this design, includes two separate vanity cabinets (his and hers) with plenty of space for needed toiletries, a matching framed medicine cabinet for her and a custom built cubby for him. Built on site was a linen closet with both roll out and stationary shelves for towels and shower supplies. The spacious walk-in, all tiled shower boasts ‘no door’ access with lineal drain, traditional fixed and hand-held shower heads and a rounded shower seat. Polished black granite was used inside the cubby and topping both the threshold and seat creating a nice contrast to and tying in with the floor. The decorative grab bar ensures safety for these homeowners while showering. The heated floors added throughout the bath take the edge off when stepping out of the warm shower and are conveniently operated by a 24 hour programmable thermostat. Classic white subway tile and chair rail trims adorne all walls and tie in nicely to each vanity station. Carrera look quartz was the perfect choice for countertops creating a clean fresh look. Stunning marble basket-weave mosaic floor tile set the stage in this exquisite bath as the beautiful white painted cabinetry softened the overall feel of the space.
These homeowners are not saving spa retreats for once-a-year vacations anymore, they now enjoy a relaxing spa-like shower experience every day in their own home!

Hayden Master Spa: 18-Head Digital Hydrotherapy & Total Sensory Wellness
This master en-suite in Hayden, Idaho, is a masterclass in high-tech wellness and custom engineering. We moved beyond standard luxury to create a "Total Immersion" environment, centered around a massive, custom-tiled steam suite that functions as a private residential spa. This project demonstrates our ability to integrate complex computerized systems with high-end architectural finishes.
The Ultimate Spa Features:
18-Head Digital Shower Matrix: The heart of the suite is a Kohler DTV digital interface, controlling a massive array of 18 total water outlets. This includes a ceiling-mounted rainforest head, high-pressure wall-mounted massaging body sprayers, and precision handshowers—all programmable for a customized hydrotherapy experience.
Polk Audio Soundscape: To create a truly immersive atmosphere, we integrated a high-fidelity Polk Audio sound system with Bluetooth connectivity. These moisture-resistant, marine-grade speakers are built directly into the shower architecture, providing crisp, studio-quality audio.
Integrated Towel Warmer: For the ultimate post-shower experience, we installed a professional-grade towel warmer. This feature ensures that the spa feeling doesn't end when the water stops, providing perfectly heated towels that complement the overall warmth of the room.
Intelligent Thermal Control: Beneath the large-format Italian porcelain tile, we installed a thermostat-controlled radiant heating system. This provides invisible, consistent warmth that extends from the vanity area directly into the shower floor.
Artisan Custom Cabinetry: The technical complexity is balanced by furniture-grade custom cabinetry featuring matching vertical storage towers and LED-lit mirrors with integrated magnification for perfect task lighting.
Freestanding Air Tub: The en-suite is rounded out with a luxury air therapy tub and a precision floor-mounted Kohler filler, perfectly positioned for a quiet retreat.

In the heart of the home, We've meticulously crafted a sanctuary of creativity and productivity in this home office. A symphony of design elements converges to create a space that not only reflects my professional ethos but also serves as a haven for inspiration.
At the forefront of the room are nine floating metal portfolio prints, each encapsulating a unique design narrative. These prints are more than decorations; they are windows into the journey as an interior designer, weaving a tapestry of experiences and influences that have shaped my craft.
Positioned strategically, a 43" LG 4k TV graces the wall, with integrated Philips Hue lighting behind it casting a soft, ambient glow. Flanked by custom ebony veneer columns, this entertainment hub seamlessly combines modern technology with bespoke craftsmanship, creating a visual spectacle that enhances both work and leisure moments.
Lighting plays a pivotal role in setting the ambiance. Recessed square LED lights illuminate the space, while two incandescent wall sconces add a touch of warmth. All of this is seamlessly orchestrated through Lutron Caseta WiFi switches, allowing me to curate the perfect lighting atmosphere for any occasion.
Functionality meets aesthetics with Merillat cabinetry thoughtfully integrated into the design. These cabinets discreetly store away office supplies and materials, maintaining a clutter-free environment conducive to focus and creativity. The ebony veneer theme extends to the custom columns, creating a visual harmony throughout the space.
The pièce de résistance is undoubtedly the standing desk, a marvel of modern design and functionality. Its programmable feature allows for up to four memorized heights, catering to my ergonomic preferences throughout the workday. This dynamic element not only promotes a healthier work lifestyle but also symbolizes the adaptability and innovation that define my approach to interior design.
In this carefully curated home office, every detail tells a story, and every element serves a purpose. It is a reflection of our passion for design, where form and function coalesce to create a space that not only meets professional needs but nurtures the spirit of creativity and innovation.
