New white Dura Supreme Highland Panel Plus cabinets were topped with beautiful Calacatta Laza Quartz – with its dramatic movement, milky white background, and soft brown veining. The clients chose a traditional clear mirror backsplash in lieu of tile that matched the dry bar and selected stunning Duverre cabinet hardware in satin nickel, which provided a silvery muted finish and coordinated well with the white cabinets.

The vanity was designed with a large trough sink, a beautiful quartz countertop and under cabinet lighting. The backsplash is faux painted with Sherwin Williams Stardew and offers the perfect backdrop for a large Kohler mirror with built-in lighting.

Progressive Design Build started by extending the foundation footer to the retaining wall and adding columns to support the new roof portion. As the trusses and supports were being built, we added two 2’ x 4’ skylights to allow in plenty of natural light. The screen enclosure was modified to ensure the enjoyment of the outdoors no matter the time of year. The patio cover also received new super gutters and downspouts. Can lights and fans were laid out in both the new and existing covered areas. Bringing the outdoor living areas together, the ceilings were designed in a beautiful Synergy Cypress tongue and groove wood finished in a warm Auburn stain. The putting green was relocated to the large walkway adjacent to the screen enclosure. When the covered area was complete, the outdoor kitchen was built along the retaining wall overlooking the property’s stunning views.

It was in 2012 when Mike Spreckelmeier first met Roy and Patti. They had been despondent after meeting with multiple contractors in an attempt to start their kitchen remodel. Progressive Design Build shot some different elevations and designed a plan to raise the floor, allowing all finished floors to be on the same level. Upon completion, the kitchen was stunning. Features included LED backlit fire glass shelving, white recessed panel cabinets, a subway tile backsplash, Granite countertop, integrated refrigerator, undermount sink, and more. The living room was designed with complimentary finishes and included a natural stone fireplace wall with open cabinets flanked on both sides. The 12’ fireplace was made with a floor-to-ceiling white pebble finish. When a Historic District home was renovated in Fort Myers, a dream kitchen was created: open plan enough for gathering, with clearly delineated areas for cooking, reading and entertaining. Challenge Bill and Alison’s existing kitchen was small and dysfunctional. Each room seemed independent, and there was no flow through the house. The house felt small, with one entry and exit point. As a planning consultant, Bill was no stranger to construction. He was a general contractor himself and had built several custom homes in years past. As a gardening enthusiast and professional educator, Alison also had an eye for design. They started with design, layout and planning on their own, but soon realized they needed help. After interviewing several contractors who seemed overwhelmed and unenthused by their project, they reached out to Progressive Design Build. Solution Mike was not only enthused about the project, but he established trust with Bill and Alison. When the project began, internal walls were removed to open up the kitchen/dining areas and an island was built, giving the space an open and modern functionality. The eating area was enlarged, and a visual connection to the outside was established using Marvin insulated glass windows with Low E coatings—which rejects solar heat gain without reducing visible light passing through the glass. In order to allow for the open concept layout that Bill and Alison desired, we built new structural beams to transfer the live load. The sliding patio doors opened onto a small terrace with a wrought iron handrail creating access to the private courtyard and garden area. Finishing details included custom cherry cabinets and wood trimming, 16” x 32” natural stone flooring, granite countertops and historically correct plaster finishes. Result The project was completed within budget and two weeks ahead of schedule. “That planning phase was the best money we spent on the project,” exclaimed Bill. “It was incredibly gratifying being able to watch the subcontractors and suppliers come and go with shared leadership and attention to details.”

A bulky butcher block island was removed to increase workflow in the kitchen. The off-white cabinets and dark granite countertops were replaced with custom white stacked cabinets in a Dempsey shaker door style and Cambria quartz Berwyn countertops that were inspired by the peaks and ridges of a rugged mountain range. Paired beautifully with the quartz countertops was a full-height shimmering gray subway tile backsplash. New stainless and black appliances from GE and Sharp coordinated nicely with the elegant cabinet pulls and a gooseneck faucet that was positioned proudly over a Vigo 30” single basin sink. Brushed nickel lighting fixtures complete the look. Progressive repainted the kitchen and the rest of the common areas in a creamy white (Sherwin Williams #7012) on both the walls and the ceilings.
