With the touch of a remote, the louvers open to let in the light, rotate 160 degrees to provide cooling shade in the heat of the day or fully close to provide a watertight seal and protection from rain. Design options to fit any architectural style plus options for fans, lighting, sound systems, heaters, retractable screening, etc... transform a patio or deck into a 3-4 season outdoor living space. This freeform swimming pool contains 34,000 gallons of water. The raised spa is 8'0" round. Indiana Limestone surrounds the pool and caps the spa, and the spillover water feature gives the perfect ambient noise. Concrete pavers provide the seating area on the deck, and oakfield fascia stone on the spa and retaining wall gives the rustic finished look.

This San Rafael front landscape has been dramatically updated with a welcoming concrete pathway entrance, and complimented by a variety of architectural plants, hardy succulents, textural grasses and a majestic, fruitless olive tree. The dramatic transformation is enhanced by a raised corten steel planter at the pathway entrance with gravel and succulents. Two horizontal ipe wood structures provide contemporary accents. New raised concrete planters alongside the new concrete driveway define the property and showcase more colorful succulents. A beautiful gray house paint color and ipe accents complete the remodel.

This Oakland hills project began with very steep front & back yard areas. The design was created to provide a functional entry access to the house as well as create an outdoor back yard space for the family and their young children. The front yard area was unusable with dilapidated wood steps and overgrown weeds. The back yard area was non-existent because of a lack of patio space, broken wood retaining walls & steep terrain. The design included developing retaining walls to create terraces and functional spaces. for the backyard, it was important to create as much patio space for the kids to have outdoor play areas. ornamentals shrubs, no-mow lawn and a maple were plants specified to create a modern aesthetic. landscape lighting provided function and mood.

This studio space was created for the wife to provide an area for crafting and artwork. The drawers hold rolls of wrapping paper and gift bags, while art supplies and bolts of fabric are stored behind the tall cabinet doors. Open shelving was utilized to provide a pop of color and display the homeowners extensive collection of Scandinavian glassware. Matt Villano Photography
