Our clients’ goal was to add an exterior living-space to the rear of their mid-century modern home. They wanted a place to sit, relax, grill, and entertain while enjoying the serenity of the landscape. Using natural materials, we created an elongated porch to provide seamless access and flow to-and-from their indoor and outdoor spaces. The shape of the angled roof, overhanging the seating area, and the tapered double-round steel columns create the essence of a timeless design that is synonymous with the existing mid-century house. The stone-filled rectangular slot, between the house and the covered porch, allows light to enter the existing interior and gives accessibility to the porch.

The larder cabinet on the left is designed as a beverage center with apothecary drawers designed for housing beverage stir sticks, sugar packets, creamers, and other misc. coffee and home bar supplies. A wine glass rack and shelves provides optimal storage for a full collection of glassware while a power supply in the back helps power coffee & espresso (machines, blenders, grinders and other small appliances that could be used for daily beverage creations. The roll-out shelf makes it easier to fill clean and operate each appliance while also making it easy to put away. Pocket doors tuck out of the way and into the cabinet so you can easily leave open for your household or guests to access, but easily shut the cabinet doors and conceal when you’re ready to tidy up. Maze Storage Boxes The Maze Box is a multipurpose storage cabinet that doesn't look like a storage cabinet. These boxes can be hung in a variety of patterns to create an interesting design on any wall and provide for excellent storage. Installation is a snap with two equally spaced keyhole slots on the back. Cabinets are sold individually. This piece is available in red koto, walnut and maple but can be special ordered in almost any color. Color samples are available upon request. Image depicts an arrangement of five. Client wanted to have an area in the apartment for storing mail, keys and magazines. We designed this custom desk caddy with slots that provides storage on top, bottom and side. Chicagoans find their closet has a different calling. After contacting CHP, these clients converted this space into a highly functional, out-of-the-way, home office. Open the doors and say, “Hello,” to your computer workspace. Close the doors and everything is out-of-sight — perfect for the those who have trouble keeping a neat desktop. Featuring two pedestals, the ample black work surface blends with the desk that is finished in Rain Cloud. Metro style, brushed chrome handles provide sure grips for drawers and doors. In this configuration, you will find cubby style shelves for books. Slots provide a home for pictures and other miscellany. Pencil drawers wait on each side of the desk to provide a home for those quaint leaded writing implements or for whatever really goes in your pencil drawers. The work surfaces, above the open shelving to the right and left, provide a place for things like a fax and a printer. Little touches, like grommets for wire management, are included in this CHP installation. If you don’t feel like organizing the work surface or the shelves, just close the door and no one will ever know the cluttered creativity that goes on behind those doors. If you are proud of your neatness, leave the doors open.

George Sexton Associates provided a flexible lighting solution for spaces Wormsley Estate. The Dining Pavilion is an entertainment space that houses Jeff Koons’ sculpture “Cracked Egg”. A dimmable luminous ceiling, combined with a flexible halogen slot lighting system, allows for flexibility of various lighting scenes. This walk-thru pantry provides easy access not only to food items, but to cooking utensils, small appliances, as well as the client's many baskets (on top). Dowel rods for hanging tablecloths, to prevent the need for ironing, were created at the client's request.
