Feast your eyes on our new Outdoor Living Display. The feature is located at our Creative Center on New Holland Pike in Lancaster, PA. This is the finished Product. We have documented the entire build from start to finish. Previous videos were shot in time-lapse during the duration of the build. Links to previous videos are at the bottom of the page. The Display feature incorporates a little bit of the services we provide. We featured different aspects of outdoor living. The first thing to catch your eye is a fairly large-scale water feature. The water feature consist of a ecosystem pond. The water starts to flow from a spillway bowl fountain. The spillway pours into the bog filter. The water then flows down various cascading waterfalls. The waterfalls and pond were constructed out of 2 different types of boulders. We did this to show various options available. There is a gigantic boulder fountain that is incorporated into the pond as well. There is a skimmer in the pond the show functionality. The pond then flows over a zero edge waterfall into a large basin. Atop the basin is 3 fountains. 2 bubbling urn fountains as well as fire bowl fountain. The patio area incorporates different styles and colors of pavers. Along with different styles of boarders. There is 2 seating walls on either side of the patio area. Each seating wall has a mixture of stone and brick veneer and topped with flagstone caps. There is a very unique shed next to the patio area. Surrounding the patio are we installed an outdoor audio system as well. This system cranks out some serious sound. Stop by and have a listen! The entire project area is outfitted with landscape lighting. We incorporated up-lights, wall lights, path lights, and a couple spot lights. The entire water feature also has underwater lighting installed. Landscaping was installed around the project to finished it off. My client was moving into a new beautiful home but knew the basic closet option the builder provided was not going to meet their needs. Budget was a big concern, as it often is when purchasing a new home. These closets met all of their storage needs and didn't break the bank. We kept the design fairly simple but layered in just a few special accessory storage options for them. You can't go wrong with a classic white closet!

This is a display we helped building for the springfest fair in Sussex County, includes landscaping, retaining wall, fish koi pond and Oudoor LED landscape lighting, we sure love the lifestyle and happy to provide this experience to our clients.

Inspiration for a mid-sized single-wall medium tone wood floor seated home bar remodel in Cincinnati with flat-panel cabinets, dark wood cabinets, quartz countertops, blue backsplash and glass tile backsplash

Karen was an existing client of ours who was tired of the crowded and cluttered laundry/mudroom that did not work well for her young family. The washer and dryer were right in the line of traffic when you stepped in her back entry from the garage and there was a lack of a bench for changing shoes/boots. Planning began… then along came a twist! A new puppy that will grow to become a fair sized dog would become part of the family. Could the design accommodate dog grooming and a daytime “kennel” for when the family is away? Having two young boys, Karen wanted to have custom features that would make housekeeping easier so custom drawer drying racks and ironing board were included in the design. All slab-style cabinet and drawer fronts are sturdy and easy to clean and the family’s coats and necessities are hidden from view while close at hand. The selected quartz countertops, slate flooring and honed marble wall tiles will provide a long life for this hard working space. The enameled cast iron sink which fits puppy to full-sized dog (given a boost) was outfitted with a faucet conducive to dog washing, as well as, general clean up. And the piece de resistance is the glass, Dutch pocket door which makes the family dog feel safe yet secure with a view into the rest of the house. Karen and her family enjoy the organized, tidy space and how it works for them.

Kitchen - transitional kitchen idea in Other

This was a small garden that we Feng Shui'ed and completely redesigned. The theme was a xeriscape - with drought tolerant, native species to California. Jennifer designed the Feng Shui aspects of the garden, and Briana Lyon provided the horticultural knowledge. We also designed their atrium to be an indoor/outdoor space with plants, and seating areas. Our clients (and their dog) love the finished product. Now they have strawberries, and artichokes coming straight from the garden. They also get a fair amount of hummingbirds visiting their fountain. This is an eclectic space, which colorfully pumps up the Feng Shui of the homeowners, while giving them a zen place to relax.

The main kitchen in this custom home has an open plan with views to the great room and sitting areas- so to add extra storage a large pantry was required. This pantry was designed to act as a secondary prep kitchen also. The opposite wall in this photograph is full length and height cabinetry. Provides space for a second refrigerator/freezer, sink and counter area, as well as general storage- but feels more like a nice galley area then a closed in pantry. As you might guess from the "Wild Dunes Path" name of the project, this particular site sits only about a quarter of a mile away from the shores of Lake Michigan. With that in mind, we chose both hardscaping and plant material that would incorporate and enhance that "beachy" feel, keeping everything natural looking and free flowing. The plant material, consisting mainly of sedum, ornamental grasses, shasta daisies, coreopsis, and lirope, is fairly low maintenance, yet will provide interest all year round.

The Control/Shift House is perched on the high side of the site which takes advantage of the view to the southeast. A gradual descending path navigates the change in terrain from the street to the entry of the house. A series of low retaining walls/planter beds gather and release the earth upon the descent resulting in a fairly flat level for the house to sit on the top one third of the site. The entry axis is aligned with the celebrated stair volume and then re-centers on the actual entry axis once you approach the forecourt of the house. The initial desire was for an “H” scheme house with common entertaining spaces bridging the gap between the more private spaces. After an investigation considering the site, program, and view, a key move was made: unfold the east wing of the “H” scheme to open all rooms to the southeast view resulting in a “T” scheme. The new derivation allows for both a swim pool which is on axis with the entry and main gathering space and a lap pool which occurs on the cross axis extending along the lengthy edge of the master suite, providing direct access for morning exercise and a view of the water throughout the day. The Control/Shift House was derived from a clever way of following the “rules.” Strict HOA guidelines required very specific exterior massing restrictions which limits the lengths of unbroken elevations and promotes varying sizes of masses. The solution most often used in this neighborhood is one of addition - an aggregation of masses and program randomly attached to the inner core of the house which often results in a parasitic plan. The approach taken with the Control/Shift House was to push and pull program/massing to delineate and define the layout of the house. Massing is intentional and reiterated by the careful selection of materiality that tracks through the house. Voids and relief in the plan are a natural result of this method and allow for light and air to circulate throughout every space of the house, even into the most inner core. Spacious suburban two story needed some updating. The kitchen was poorly laid out and too tightly spaced. An unnecessary partition separated the family room from the kitchen/eating area. With some creative design work and a fair amount of construction, the kitchen was widened to provide a gracious space for larger island and better working flow. The odd half wall was removed and the entire space received a stunning wood plank look porcelain tile floor. The rooms now look and feel grand and open.

Perfectly minimal and innovative seating design the Obelisk represents the modernist ideal of form follows function with a ‘futurist slant’. The simplicity is evident and while Obelisk has a formality about it on the one hand, this has then been played with and some great twists added. The essentially rectangular forms that make up the body of this piece, have striking angular facets, while the whole upholstery has a pronounced tilt and is slightly elevated on broad, sturdy formed legs. The generous size, method of construction, and excellent ergonomics provide superb comfort and personal space in both the chair and sofa lengths. Obelisk was awarded a special mention for the Young & Design at the International Milan Furniture Fair, won the Inside IDEA Awards for product and has now been specified worldwide for prestigious architectural projects and installations including the famous Denver Art Museum.
