The existing kitchen was quite chopped up with strange soffits and different ceiling heights. To make the space flow in a more logical manner, we borrowed an unused desk area from the adjoining hallway and reconfigured a neighboring bath. Getting it to work on paper was fairly straightforward, but there was a bit of complicated beam work involved as the new kitchen flows through what was an old exterior wall. The new ceiling is now completely flush as we were able to hide the support in the ceiling joists. A new, larger window was added at the sink, the doorway to the room was widened and the resulting space creates a more easy flow from dining room to family room. The clients chose white inset cabinets, white marble tops and an apron sink to keep the space feeling simple yet original to the home's Colonial styling. Ship lap siding on the back of the island and at the pantry storage ceiling, a walnut butcher block, and antique brass details give the space an updated look. Professional stainless appliances are functional and beautiful. In addition to a large built-in fridge and 36" range, a second oven is housed in the island for flexibility. The pantry area has a convenience station that houses the family's espresso machine along with the microwave drawer. Another large bank of cabinets in the same area serves as pantry storage for dry goods. The bathroom was also remodeled as part of this project. The full bath has a vanity, shower and convenient baby changing area. The floor is encaustic tile, a type of concrete tile recognizable by its bold graphics. The mirror and lighting add a few modern touches to keep it in line with the Owner's personal style. A new wave of rattan outdoor furniture has landed. The project docked in North Naples amid our lockdown. With tailor made sectionals that fit like a glove into the niche outdoor space and deck chairs that never looked so swell. For starters, this successful coastal style was a perfect fit for the owner who loves clutter-free surfaces, nautical-inspired flourishes and enjoys finishes with luminescent light bouncing about, hence the use of a fair amount of glass tops. Navy wavy blue wicker, back dropped with warm golds from the walls of the home, natural tones, Sunbrella creams and of course, scatter cushions that bring it all together, these are hallmarks of the clients’ personal coastal style, creating a calm and brilliantly realized space for maximum relaxation. Although this Naples home is not located or in close proximity to the beach, the space played to the vibes with a nautical theme in place. Karen was an existing client of ours who was tired of the crowded and cluttered laundry/mudroom that did not work well for her young family. The washer and dryer were right in the line of traffic when you stepped in her back entry from the garage and there was a lack of a bench for changing shoes/boots. Planning began… then along came a twist! A new puppy that will grow to become a fair sized dog would become part of the family. Could the design accommodate dog grooming and a daytime “kennel” for when the family is away? Having two young boys, Karen wanted to have custom features that would make housekeeping easier so custom drawer drying racks and ironing board were included in the design. All slab-style cabinet and drawer fronts are sturdy and easy to clean and the family’s coats and necessities are hidden from view while close at hand. The selected quartz countertops, slate flooring and honed marble wall tiles will provide a long life for this hard working space. The enameled cast iron sink which fits puppy to full-sized dog (given a boost) was outfitted with a faucet conducive to dog washing, as well as, general clean up. And the piece de resistance is the glass, Dutch pocket door which makes the family dog feel safe yet secure with a view into the rest of the house. Karen and her family enjoy the organized, tidy space and how it works for them.

This was a small garden that we Feng Shui'ed and completely redesigned. The theme was a xeriscape - with drought tolerant, native species to California. Jennifer designed the Feng Shui aspects of the garden, and Briana Lyon provided the horticultural knowledge. We also designed their atrium to be an indoor/outdoor space with plants, and seating areas. Our clients (and their dog) love the finished product. Now they have strawberries, and artichokes coming straight from the garden. They also get a fair amount of hummingbirds visiting their fountain. This is an eclectic space, which colorfully pumps up the Feng Shui of the homeowners, while giving them a zen place to relax.

My client was moving into a new beautiful home but knew the basic closet option the builder provided was not going to meet their needs. Budget was a big concern, as it often is when purchasing a new home. These closets met all of their storage needs and didn't break the bank. We kept the design fairly simple but layered in just a few special accessory storage options for them. You can't go wrong with a classic white closet!

Kitchen - transitional kitchen idea in Other

Spacious suburban two story needed some updating. The kitchen was poorly laid out and too tightly spaced. An unnecessary partition separated the family room from the kitchen/eating area. With some creative design work and a fair amount of construction, the kitchen was widened to provide a gracious space for larger island and better working flow. The odd half wall was removed and the entire space received a stunning wood plank look porcelain tile floor. The rooms now look and feel grand and open.

A 3D rendering was provided to our clients to showcase how their design would be envisioned once complete. Medium tones from the vanity and flooring anchor this fairly lit space.

This Fair Oaks kitchen felt small and dark. Removing the dropped ceiling and adding new windows created a bright open kitchen and allowed the homeowners to enjoy their beautiful backyard. White-painted Schrock cabinets provided more storage and functionality. Beautiful new quartzite countertops and iridescent backsplash tile, to the ceiling, imparts elegance and sophistication. The Versaille pattern stone floor, throughout the bottom floor completes the renovation.

This is a display we helped building for the springfest fair in Sussex County, includes landscaping, retaining wall, fish koi pond and Oudoor LED landscape lighting, we sure love the lifestyle and happy to provide this experience to our clients.

After an unfortunate flood, this bathroom was ripped out taken down to the studs, giving us a completely blank slate to work with. To maximize this fairly compact guest bathroom, we added horizontal shiplap paneling to the walls to expand the space visually. The front of the tub was also wrapped in shiplap for added continuity. Hex tile flooring provides pattern and movement against the white painted shiplap walls. And the soft gray rectangular wall tile in the shower repeats the horizontal effect, all in effort of creating the look of a larger space. Photography by Amy Bartlam

This Outdoor Living Space Display features various outdoor living services we provide. We featured water features, hardscapes, masonry, landscapes, outdoor audio, and landscape lighting. The main idea was to create a space where we could showcase our specialties for the public’s viewing pleasure. We encourage visitors to stop by and interact with this grand display. Night time viewing is also encouraged as the entire feature is lit up in the evening. In the future we plan to incorporate additional features to this project. At some point we hope to add an outdoor kitchen area as well as a fire-place. Upon entering the property, first thing to catch your eye is a fairly large-scale water feature. The water feature consist of an ecosystem pond. The water starts to flow from a spillway bowl fountain. The spillway pours into the bog filter. The water then flows down various cascading waterfalls. The waterfalls and pond were constructed out of 2 different types of boulders. We did this to show various options available. There is a gigantic boulder fountain that is incorporated into the pond as well. There is a skimmer in the pond the show functionality. The pond then flows over a zero edge waterfall into a large basin. Atop the basin is 3 fountains. 2 bubbling urn fountains as well as fire bowl fountain. The patio area incorporates different styles and colors of pavers. Along with different styles of boarders. There is 2 seating walls on either side of the patio area. Each seating wall has a mixture of stone and brick veneer and topped with flagstone caps. There is a very unique shed next to the patio area. Surrounding the patio are we installed an outdoor audio system as well. This system cranks out some serious sound. Stop by and have a listen! The entire project area is outfitted with landscape lighting. We incorporated up-lights, wall lights, path lights, and a couple of spot lights. The entire water feature also has underwater lighting installed. Landscaping was installed around the project to finished it off. This elegant bathroom involved a fair amount of detailed planning to make many of it's features work out well. The vanity is extra deep at 24" which helped with accommodating drawers under the sink. Trying to fit is the vanity ledge detail along with the faucet, sink and healthy overhang left very little wiggle room for error but it all worked out beautifully and now that it's in place, no one would realize the effort that went into preparing and planning it. The tower in between the two vanity sinks houses the outlets making them much more discreet than if they were on the mirror wall. The original bath had a closed shower. My goal was to open this up allowing for much more natural light in the shower. The half wall also provides a generous recessed soap box. The wall opposite the half wall accommodates a wall to wall granite bench. The overall calming colors are soft green-blue, white and a bit of amber. The play on textures and sheens are quite elegant. A timeless design uniting a small galley kitchen with it’s adjacent eating area and allowing this small condo kitchen to be used to its full potential. Continuity was crucial in this space as it encompasses a fair portion of the open area in the condo. Connecting the bases and uppers with tall panels helped the kitchen appear furniture like. Repeating the counter as a backsplash and keeping it close in tone to the cabinetry added to the furniture aesthetic. Additionally, paneling the appliances helped the utilitarian fundamentals fade away. This polished steel cabinet is visible from both the formal living and dining rooms, so having it as a beautiful focal point was perfect. In the same way, as this space is visible from most of the home, keeping it neutral and calm while providing ample storage for the client, was a dream come true.
