A Master Bedroom washed with sunlight and tranquil color Establishing a serene gray and aqua color palette, the Master Bedroom serves as a family oasis, where our clients can share both alone time with each other and snuggle/reading time with their children. We created a seating zone flanked by a unique collage wall that documents the client’s connection to family and passion for travel. A treasured antique radio purchased by the man of the house perches on a pair of nesting tables and offers that Vintage flair that punctuates the entire home.

Ample storage and function were an important feature for the homeowner. Beth worked in unison with the contractor to design a custom hanging, pull-out system. The functional shelf glides out when needed, and stores neatly away when not in use. The contractor also installed a hanging rod above the washer and dryer. You can never have too much hanging space! Beth purchased mesh laundry baskets on wheels to alleviate the musty smell of dirty laundry, and a broom closet for cleaning items. There is even a cozy little nook for the family dog.

The "main room" in the apartment had to serve multiple functions - a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, as well as a place to store items like our client's bicycle. Because space was tight, we used a small bistro table so that our client could sit with one other person (or more by pulling up other chairs) and enjoy a meal. By using a wall mounted bike rack that also incorporated some storage for his helmet + lock, we were able to save some space, and love the way that it highlights our client's graffiti art purchased on the streets of NYC! Our client’s love of books directed much of the use of the wall space in the entry and living room. The books provide areas of color and visual interest against the newly painted accent wall in Silken Blue by Benjamin Moore.

The small eat - in kitchen was designed with functionality in mind. The clients needed as much counter space as possible for cooking and prepping, as well as a dedicated spot for their many cookbooks. Soda Glass panels were used for the backsplash. The clients are able to write down recipes, weekly meal schedules and notes on the glass backsplash - making for a truly functional and personal kitchen.
