It's ok to be afraid of patterns but that's only if you know when they can be very effective and when they cannot. This is a kitchen backsplash that was specifically picked out by Candace Christian of Kitchener-Waterloo and it works perfectly with the kitchen she decorated/designed. This backsplash takes some subtle hints from the cabinetry all around it and plays off of matte finish with a polish of its own.
When your counter top and your cabinets are holding back, that gives you the opportunity to put in a backsplash that will basically say "Hey look here!" Candace chose this marble mosaic from our showroom and it is a great focal piece in the kitchen. A lot of customers ask us what this mosaic is, how much it costs, and how soon they can get it.
Does pattern work with everything? Not particularly, but when it does it adds that element to a room that you didn't know you were missing but always wondered about. Do you know when you finally find the puzzle piece that you were looking for and it fits? That's the feeling.

In episode 6, The Man Wants a Tub!, Melissa and Jenna utilize the modern PUZZLE PIECE tile in Beehive on our recycled Polar Ice Terrazzo as the feature accent wall surrounding the brand new bath tub. They took advantage of the versatility of this mid-century tile by alternating the tiles in different directions to create a unique layout. As you can see below, the overall design is one-of-a-kind for their client.

The design concept came from puzzle mix with new and old. This family has a great mind that they re-use many existing furniture. Base on the new concept, we renovated their furniture into the new one. So felt like a puzzle, piece by piece stick together to become one. The kids love to dance and drawing very much so that we mix with the pastel color to make the place more childhood. The hanging cabinet is a whiteboard which can let the kid can draw anytime. A challenging part is a tiny bathroom need to put the shower area and the bathtub. Luckily we found a small one can fit this idea. An extra need is for the cat have his own bed and walkway.

Never has a living room seen so much charm happen at the same time. The pieces look like puzzle pieces that fit together without any doubt. The His sofa is one of the main protagonists, with a fabric aligned to give body to this radiant atmosphere. This configuration made it possible to add a small seating area so that our client could enjoy a warm and comfortable space for leisure time.

February 9th, 2021 marked day one of the first ever virtual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which showcases hundreds of new products coming to the design industry in 2021 from brand names ranging from GE to Kohler. While LIVDEN didn’t exhibit at KBIS this year, our sustainable tile was featured at the Café Appliances’ showcase kitchen, Endless Optimist, designed by exhibit designer TK Wismer. The GE brand Café Appliances manufactures custom appliances ranging from brightly colored refrigerators to sleek coffee makers for modern homes. Their trade mark is “Distinct by Design,” and after touring their test kitchens at KBIS, you will see why. Tk featured the playful PUZZLE PIECE series in MINT on our recycled 12x12 Polar Ice Terrazzo as the kitchen backsplash.

Mixing geometric shapes can be exciting and sophisticated, especially in black and white. For this sitting area I paired the large puzzle-piece rug from Julie Dasher Rugs with the smaller origami pattern of the Romo fabric on the swivel chairs.

This landscape of this transitional dwelling aims to compliment the architecture while providing an outdoor space for high end living and entertainment. The outdoor kitchen, hot tub, tiered gardens, living and dining areas as well as a formal lawn provide ample space for enjoyment year round.

Putting together this floor was like working on a jigsaw puzzle with mismatched pieces. Whether the wood was reclaimed from a single project in Europe or from multiple projects is unclear. Either way, it took the skill of experienced craftsmen to assemble the pieces, mill the wood to like thickness, then to finish with a lightly buffed wax.
