To add some visual interest to the walls in the hall, I added some not-so-randomly selected and placed branches from my neighbor's tree which they were cutting down during this renovation. At night, when the branches are downlit, the effect is quite dramatic. The base of that tree provided a great pedestal for the kitchen's bar top which can be seen from the entry. Photo by Sandra J. Stainless Steel & Glass Kitchen backsplash: Eden Mosaic Tile Modern Random Mix Steel - Glass II - EMT_118S-MIX-SM. This ultra modern interlocking tile is comprised of various sizes of silver and light black stainless steel and white glass pieces. There are two types of brush patterns on the stainless steel, the first being a straight snow matte linear brush pattern, and the second being a circular brushed pattern. The different steel brush patterns appear to give the stainless steel a different color because of the way the light reflects off the tile, when in fact both are a regular stainless steel color. The result is a visually stunning array of colors and textures which will surely make your wall pop. The project included the demolition of a kitchenettem and a bathroom, and the installation of new cabinets, wood flooring, granite countertops, appliances, wood molding and a custom Murphy bed in the sleeping area. We transformed this kitchen from an outdated southwest style space to a classic Spanish style kitchen. The custom built in refrigerator and freezer was created by selecting various molding pieces and designing doors and side panels to replicate a Spanish antique.
