Paul Lopa Designs

Paul and team did a full renovation of my 2br condo in Manhattan. Everything was done in the most professional manner, and to schedule. Budgets and billing are transparent. I didn't have to deal with any subcontractors: Paul did it all. They followed building rules, and always kept the hallways clean of dust or debris from the demolition phase. The kitchen is a masterwork. I initially intended to rent out the apartment (having moved during the renovation) but ultimately decided to sell. One of the stagers who looked at it before listing raved about the renovation. The kitchen really sells itself (and is nicer than the kitchen in my new place!). Paul is always available to talk on the phone about any questions and concerns.

We hired Paul to do a gut renovation of our home and couldn’t have made a better choice. From the construction to the design phase, everything ran very smoothly. All of the work was high quality and Paul was very responsive throughout the whole process. We were very satisfied with the final product and recommended him to our daughter. After meeting with Paul Lopa several times we saw that he was very perceptive in picking up on our taste and style. He respected my house’s design and continued in that direction. We hired Paul to renovate our kitchen, first floor bath and master bath. As the project continued, and we saw the design that Paul had envisioned, we asked him to continue with architectural features that reflected the house’s original style. The team showed up on time each day, was respectful of our property by keeping it safe from the demolition and worked well with other contractors. We did a whole house remodel and Paul and his team did a fantastic job with the huge project they took on. Paul led us through the entire job from beginning to end and was always there for us for any questions or concerns that we had. Even after the project was complete he still kept in touch to make sure everything was ok and up to our standards. Paul Lopa designs did a wonderful job.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul and his team on a basement renovation last year. I can't praise them highly enough. Paul was collaborative and open to my ideas, while still offering his expert help and guidance. His contracts and estimates are detailed and easy to understand, and he stayed on budget and on time. Sincere , meticulous , intelligent work . As a person he is very personable and he can individualize the plan as per need and ability of the customer. He reviewed the plan over and over again ,made the necessary changes in the plan and construction as per needed. He did not get irritated upon our repeated requests to change the modality of design and structure. He finished the project on time.

Paul Lopa designs is currently renovating my kitchen , living room , dining room , hallway and three bedrooms. I’m excited to see my home completely renovated. Paul comes to my home every day and is always there for every step of the job. Grace & Fran the designing team are so talented I trust them completely. I purchased cabinets from Paul at his store the Cabinet Factory on New Dorp lane where there were so many cabinets and elements to my home renovation to choose from. Paul made me a computer diagrams of exactly what the outcome will be. I will put before & after pictures on this site when the job is completed. My husband & I are so delighted that we hired such a professional and talented person Paul Lopa & his team of designers. Paul Lopa designs is definitely the way to go if you want someone who is passionate, professional, and honest. I used Paul for a complete reno on my 1st home purchase. It was a complete mess. I had no idea what I got myself into. On the walk through with Paul and Fran the eased my worries with how confident they were that the house would turn out beautiful. Paul didn't seemed phased by the project at hand. And Fran was able to vision the potential of each room. So the design process begins. First I was instructed to install a special app that would organize and keep track of all decisions made by me and a completed list of our entire budget. I was sent choices to choose from for all finishing for my dream home. When I was torn or just too overwhelmed to make a decision Paul and Fran were not afraid to share there artistic view and only had our best interest at heart. They really took the time to get to know what I wanted and did everything to assure that it would get done in a timely manner. Most importantly Paul worked very hard to stay within our budget without compromising the integrity of his work. He was always available to oversee the progress of the project. If he could not be physically at project he was a phone call away and always communicated with me and his employees, who were very hard workers. They were professional and respectful. The house turned out better than I could have imagined and I'm so happy with my decision to hire Paul Lopa designs.

My family and I are so glad we made the choice of hiring Paul Lopa. Our bathroom was about 30 years old and quite outdated. I explained to Paul I wanted a modern look and at the same time I wanted a bathroom that was done right and not need constant repairs. I am so happy to say the man delivered on his promise. My family now has the luxury of having our own spa like bathroom which I have only seen in expensive hotels. I also know from the way he made sure that my floors were water proofed and that all the old pipes and wiring was removed that he did right by me. I can say that it was worth every penny we put into it. Now i have to go and save up some more money so I can have Paul remodel my kitchen.

I started my search for a contractor about a year before I hired Paul to do a kitchen and bathroom renovation. This was my first time at the bat, and I really had no idea what to expect. I had many contractor proposals that swung wildly in price but for some reason I never felt inclined to hire any of the guys I met with. I happened to be looking at Houzz one day and came across Paul’s company and he had very good reviews. I gave him a call and he came to my apartment quickly. I liked him immediately when we met. I thought it was strange that he asked me for my budget and how much I wanted to spend but in hindsight, providing that information allowed Paul to come back to me with a very detailed proposal based on my budget. I soon realized that the lower proposals I had did not include many of the budget items that would be necessary to complete the job. Paul laid out the pricing and provided a very reasonable “allowance” based on your measurements for tile, toilet, sinks, etc. It is up to you to stay within that allowance. Another reason I hired Paul was because of his design skills. Paul met me in the at tile stores several times and helped guide me in choosing tile and a style for the bathroom that really looks beautiful. I fought him a little but in the end, was glad I went with his recommendations. He also uses a kitchen cabinet maker so all the cabinets are custom to what you want. Paul also has a great customer website that allows you to see all the expenses, make choices, and easily communicate with him. If you are planning to do a renovation, I think it helps to plan for the worst and hope for the best. I live in a co-op and we had a couple of little glitches and Paul was always quick to resolve issues as they arose. He was extremely responsive and really cared about the work and doing a good job. I would definitely hire Paul again if I needed a contractor.
