Vintage gold artwork and a modern gold wall sconce work together to add some refined bling to this organic maximalist 'Rainbow Poppy Meadow' wallpaper by Rebel Walls. The vertical height is always welcome in a small space and the space below the cabinet is great for even more storage if needed. The cane feature on the cabinet was received with the original wood, but we added some of the white-wash paint used in the upcycled chairs, to slightly tone down the yellow in the natural wood fibers and allow it blend a bit more cohesively with the office guest chairs (not shown here, but across the room).

The streetside of the property received a major change as a large 2 story garage was built to replace a single story garage. The finished garage contains home offices and a exercise space on the 2nd floor. Solar panels were installed on the South facing roof. A new entry was built to accommodate the new door location.

With adjacent neighbors within a fairly dense section of Paradise Valley, Arizona, C.P. Drewett sought to provide a tranquil retreat for a new-to-the-Valley surgeon and his family who were seeking the modernism they loved though had never lived in. With a goal of consuming all possible site lines and views while maintaining autonomy, a portion of the house — including the entry, office, and master bedroom wing — is subterranean. This subterranean nature of the home provides interior grandeur for guests but offers a welcoming and humble approach, fully satisfying the clients requests. While the lot has an east-west orientation, the home was designed to capture mainly north and south light which is more desirable and soothing. The architecture’s interior loftiness is created with overlapping, undulating planes of plaster, glass, and steel. The woven nature of horizontal planes throughout the living spaces provides an uplifting sense, inviting a symphony of light to enter the space. The more voluminous public spaces are comprised of stone-clad massing elements which convert into a desert pavilion embracing the outdoor spaces. Every room opens to exterior spaces providing a dramatic embrace of home to natural environment. Grand Award winner for Best Interior Design of a Custom Home The material palette began with a rich, tonal, large-format Quartzite stone cladding. The stone’s tones gaveforth the rest of the material palette including a champagne-colored metal fascia, a tonal stucco system, and ceilings clad with hemlock, a tight-grained but softer wood that was tonally perfect with the rest of the materials. The interior case goods and wood-wrapped openings further contribute to the tonal harmony of architecture and materials. This small space received a big transformation. It began as a small office, and became a small but luxurious bathroom, complete with marble countertops, bronze undermount sink, steam shower, and fully custom cabinets.

An intimate understanding of the clients led to the immaculate renovation of this Baltimore County project by Penza Bailey Architects. After conducting a feasibility study to assist the clients in selecting the right home, the firm got to work, removing traditional trim and dated finishes to craft a contemporary retreat. In addition to cosmetic upgrades, the home received a four-foot addition to expand the living and dining rooms, now with expansive windows overlooking the new resort style pool, cabana, and complementing pool house perfect for summer gatherings or solo swims. Inside, a four-foot expansion enhances the open-concept floor plan. Contemporary finishes, like the wide plank flooring, outfit the more casual office located in the pool house and complement the main home’s aesthetic.

With family life and entertaining in mind, we built this 4,000 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 3 full baths and 2 half baths house from the ground up! To fit in with the rest of the neighborhood, we constructed an English Tudor style home, but updated it with a modern, open floor plan on the first floor, bright bedrooms, and large windows throughout the home. What sets this home apart are the high-end architectural details that match the home’s Tudor exterior, such as the historically accurate windows encased in black frames. The stunning craftsman-style staircase is a post and rail system, with painted railings. The first floor was designed with entertaining in mind, as the kitchen, living, dining, and family rooms flow seamlessly. The home office is set apart to ensure a quiet space and has its own adjacent powder room. Another half bath and is located off the mudroom. Upstairs, the principle bedroom has a luxurious en-suite bathroom, with Carrera marble floors, furniture quality double vanity, and a large walk in shower. There are three other bedrooms, with a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and an additional hall bathroom. We worked closely with our clients and their designer for this glossy custom kitchen. The designer wanted high-gloss wood grain cabinets which we created with a cost effective foil wood look. Our clients were loved the final product, especially because they received so many compliments when seen by friends and family! The kitchen also included base cabinet pull-out trays, as well as pull-out shelving within the pantry towner and even an appliance lift for their daily use of the blender. We also included a kitchen office desk which was painted to match the walls for a seamless add-in look.

The office is one of the most elegant “man caves” we have ever seen! Retaining and repointing the gorgeous stone walls, we tore down the roof of an existing covered porch, added a new one, walls and windows to create this “gentleman’s office”. At either end of the room, this space’s focal points are the custom designed shelves we built directly into the stone walls. The room is finished off with raised panels on the ceiling and lighting recessed directly into the soffit. This beautiful French Provincial home is set on 10 acres, nestled perfectly in the oak trees. The original home was built in 1974 and had two large additions added; a great room in 1990 and a main floor master suite in 2001. This was my dream project: a full gut renovation of the entire 4,300 square foot home! I contracted the project myself, and we finished the interior remodel in just six months. The exterior received complete attention as well. The 1970s mottled brown brick went white to completely transform the look from dated to classic French. Inside, walls were removed and doorways widened to create an open floor plan that functions so well for everyday living as well as entertaining. The white walls and white trim make everything new, fresh and bright. It is so rewarding to see something old transformed into something new, more beautiful and more functional.

In Wynnewood, PA, we completed a comprehensive home renovation that transformed the entire property. Our services included installing a brand new kitchen with modern cabinets, countertops, and appliances, creating a functional and stylish culinary space. New flooring was laid throughout the home, updating it with durable and attractive materials. A new deck was built to enhance outdoor living and entertainment opportunities. Bathrooms were completely renovated with new fixtures and updated designs, improving both functionality and aesthetics. The entire interior received a fresh coat of paint, revitalizing the home's appearance. We also installed new stairs for improved accessibility and safety. With no heat, minimum electricity and few windows (most of which were broken), a priority for CEO and Designer Jason Hoffman was to create a space that honors its historic architecture, era and purpose but still offers elements of understated sophistication. The building is nearly 140 years old, built before many of the trees towering around it had begun growing. It was originally built as a simple, Victorian carriage barn, used to store the family’s horse and buggy. Later, it housed 2,000 chickens when the Owners worked the property as their farm. Then, for many years, it was storage space. Today, it couples as a workshop for our carpentry team, building custom projects and storing equipment, as well as an office loft space ready to welcome clients, visitors and trade partners. We added a small addition onto the existing barn to offer a separate entry way for the office. New stairs and an entrance to the workshop provides for a small, yet inviting foyer space. From the beginning, even is it’s dark state, Jason loved the ambiance of the old hay loft with its unfinished, darker toned timbers. He knew he wanted to find a way to refinish the space with a focus on those timbers, evident in the statement they make when walking up the stairs. On the exterior, the building received new siding, a new roof and even a new foundation which is a story for another post. Inside, we added skylights, larger windows and a French door, with a small balcony. Along with heat, electricity, WiFi and office furniture, we’re ready for visitors!

Eclectic laundry room photo in Austin

This Reston Virginia Condo remodel required us to bring every room up to date. We provided the new wood plank laminate flooring with a cork underlayment for maximum comfort and sound absorption. The client requested that we turn the second bedroom into an office space. We lined the wall with semi-custom cabinetry, a new ceiling fan and a built out custom closet to store books and office supplies. The adjacent bathroom shower walls and floors are lined with polished marble floor tile and new chrome plumbing fixtures. The new grey vanity and quartz counters compliment the new grey zigzag accent marble tile. The master bedroom received a full overhaul as well including a custom velvet headboard lined with espresso wood, new nightstands and dresser, 2 new pendant lamps in front of the new espresso wall mirrors. We were sure to incorporate new LED lighting throughout the condo including smart home enabled Wi-Fi controlled lighting.
