Revival by DesignWe were engaged to give this small lounge a bit of TLC; our clients wanted to make the room feel inviting to sit in. A bit lost, it was acting more like a corridor than a room, as it connects the front door and hallway, to the inner hall and the kitchen.
One of a number of reception rooms, this room in the stunning Georgian property was more of a relaxing space for TV watching and reading for her. It was important that this space had a feminine and homely feel, one that would invite you to sit and relax, whilst being in keeping with the age and location of this country home.
To do this we added warm tones such as muted pinks and warm neutrals with delicate patterns, such as florals and damasks. Keen not to close the room down but have adequate seating, we made the footstool/ottoman the same height as the sofa, so it could be used either as a coffee table, chaise end to the sofa, or as additional seating. We are reliably informed that this is now the go to room in the house for relaxing, which is fantastic.

This three-story live/work building accommodates a business and a private residence. The front showroom and reception area features a stair with a custom handrail and veneer brick wall. Moving through the main hall you will find a coffee bar and conference room that precedes a workroom with dark green cabinetry, masonry fireplace, and oversized pub-height work tables. The residence can be accessed on all levels and maintains privacy through the stairwell and elevator shaft. The second level is home to a design studio, private office and large conference room that opens up to a deep balcony with retractable screens. On the residence side, above the garage is a flex space, which is used as a guest apartment for out of town guests and includes a murphy bed, kitchenette and access to a private bath. The third level is the private residence. At the front you will find a balcony, living room with linear fireplace, dining room with banquette seating and kitchen with a custom island and pullout table. Private spaces include a full bathroom and kids room featuring train car inspired bunks and ample storage. The master suite is tucked away to the rear and features dual bathroom vanities, dressing space, a drop down TV in the bedroom ceiling and a closet wall that opens up to an 8x12, his and hers closet. The lower level is part of the private residence and features a home gym and recreation spaces.

On the main floor, we designed spaces that shift seamlessly from workday to reception-ready. Lighting was planned with intention, to preserve the original plaster ceilings and spotlight rotating installations without sacrificing ambient warmth. Custom built-ins maximize functionality while maintaining a distinctly un-officey feel. Upstairs, the artist apartment is a thoughtful retreat: adaptable, light-filled, and comfortable, with just enough quirk to spark inspiration. Even the basement—home to a full photography studio and workroom—balances technical needs with aesthetic ease. Throughout, we used color, texture, and collected pieces to ensure each room feels curated, not staged. Personal, not polished.
