Captivated by South Haven’s natural charm and waterfront beauty, this storybook, waterfront abode is exceptionally true to its lakefront character.
Featuring over 3,600 square feet with five bedroom and three-and-a-half baths, the careful design of this open and charming layout paired with grand views from nearly every room, capture all the warmth and playfulness of lakefront living.
• A beach friendly fiber cement siding in a cheerful shade of blue blends seamlessly with the water backdrop, while contrasting white trim and darker blue window clad lend definition to the exterior.
• An impressive kitchen with stunning Ann Sachs tile backsplash, quartz countertops, richly stained bistro table and Viking Appliances overlook the generous, but clearly defined, living and dining rooms.
• Extensive built-ins with extra storage and workspace, such as a distinctive dining serving piece featuring quartz stone and a lake reflecting mirror, maximize space and make entertaining a breeze.
• Playful design elements like Thibaut wallpaper, braided hemp cabinet insets and white-washed European white oak floors complement the home’s coastal flair with nautical décor and warm hues.
• Fine finishes and rich trim details including wainscot, various painted ceilings, louvered doors on cabinetry, and fireplace surround with kitchen coordinating quartz stone, show off the intricate design gestures.
• Skillfully designed upstairs presents a restful master retreat with private balcony, two guest bedrooms, convenient laundry featuring sleek retractable doors and space maximizing built in bunk beds with ultra-clever steps that provide storage.
• The lower level’s extra guest quarters, additional laundry, full beach bath with top-to-bottom tiled shower, diligent kitchenette, beach-friendly stained concrete floors, outdoor shower that keeps sand at bay, and direct access to the sugary sands of Lake Michigan.

This room was completely transformed when we stripped the existing shiny, orange finish off of the red oak floors and applied a custom blended, commercial grade penetrating oil to enhance the caramel tones of the wood and provide a beautiful foundation for this home's design.

French Oak is considered one of the most admirable wood species because it has higher tannin than any other Oak around the globe; the higher tannin reacts better in the aging process, giving it the exquisite patina and time worn look. We only select character grade French Oak as it has the most beautiful natural cracks, knots and tight wood grains that no other wood species can offer.
Offered in planks 8-inch-wide and six-feet in length, and featuring an unusually deep 4mm thick sawn veneer for a lifetime of enjoyment.
Feel free to reach out with any questions you have about our French Oak flooring. We would be happy to answer them for you.

Longleaf Lumber reclaimed Red Oak flooring with a water-base finish. Checking, knots, and other features bring out the character in this centuries-old wood.

This Spanish style Californian home used our Antique Barnboard Oak flooring in all 6.5" wide planks. Aging patina, stress cracks and some original saw marks combined with nail holes and solid knots give this grade of reclaimed oak flooring a very unique character that is impossible to match with new flooring.

The floor beneath the street level has been built as a child’s retreat of sorts. There are four bedrooms linked in pairs by Jack and Jill bathrooms. This, plus twin study centers, an open play room and a small lounge—strategically tucked away from study and play areas—that’s rigged for gaming and TV-watching. On this floor, the vibe is light and airy, with white walls against light hued floors of engineered oak. “They have a great combination of tones, and are more durable than actual wood,” notes Lazar. There is also plenty of custom cabinetry, from desks and drawers to multiple-sized nooks for stowing away toys and books.
Though positioned as a children’s floor, it doesn’t have to be. The floor, and the entire house, has been designed with enough blank slate so it can be stylistically recast as an owner sees fit. “Everything is very subtle very clean,” says Lazar. “Anyone can come in and use the space any way they choose.”
