The color palette for the plants going into a built in planter on the upper patio. The curved shaped in the background was found on the property, and will eventually become a sculptural element.

This spring container has been planted with a variety of perennials (English primrose & Lamium), annuals (pansies), bulbs (daffodils & hyacinths) and incorporates freshly cut forsythia branches.

Across the house the original hedges were removed and the lawn reduced to accommodate a broad palette of plants for interest. Plants include Princess Flower, Lantana, Penstemons, Breath of Heaven 'Sunset Gold', Geranium sanguineum. The Crape Myrtle tree was existing and formerly in the lawn.

Scott & Catherine Buley, HTT&T, High Tech Turf & Trees, LandscapeMakeover.biz, Rain Garden Nursery. The theme garden Yucca needed help. We reduced and cleaned it out, and added an equally drought tolerant groundcover in front of it, Bearberry (cotoneaster dammeri). Evergreen, drought tolerant, tough, and with the bonus of white Spring flowers, and Summer thru Winter red berries.

The stair from the upper patio and the stairs leading down to the garage had nothing connecting them, so we added a lower concrete walkway, while leaving ample space for new plantings.

Kirk Bianchi created the design for this residential resort next to a desert preserve. The overhang of the homes patio suggested a pool with a sweeping curve shape. Kirk positioned a raised vanishing edge pool to work with the ascending terrain and to also capture the reflections of the scenery behind. The fire pit and bbq areas are situated to capture the best views of the superstition mountains, framed by the architectural pergola that creates a window to the vista beyond. A raised glass tile spa, capturing the colors of the desert context, serves as a jewel and centerpiece for the outdoor living space.
