What do you do with an old redwood deck that is beginning to rot? Revitalize your outdoor space! The solution was clear – out with the old and in with a stunning new deck and pergola. These homeowners wanted to keep the look of a redwood deck so we crafted a fresh look with sleek black metal balusters and a drink cap, enhancing both the style and usability. The added pergola was stained to match the house trim and offers the owners a serene spot on sunny days.

This new deck was completed with redwood decking laid at a 90-degree angle to the joists. We used a semi-solid stain for the decking, PreservaWood Redwood. The owners chose to install a Fortress Fe26 panel railing with 3" posts and flat pyramid post caps. We also designed and built the cedar pergola, stained with Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace solid-body stain

The deck is built with ConCommon Redwood at a 90-degree angle to the joists with single divider boards. We built the staircase with a 180-degree turn landing so the outdoor living area below the deck could be easily accessed. The support posts are 12" x 12" stucco and feature an arch in between. The deck and railing have been stained in PPG Russet solid-body.
