Cool gray tones combine with glass, mirrors, and light to create a bright, airy master bath design in this East Lansing home. The focal point of the design is the extra large curbless, custom shower design. The frameless glass enclosure has French doors with glass return panels, and includes dual Kohler Memoirs Stately showerheads on each side along with a handheld showerhead and built in shower bench. The soothing gray tiled shower has a custom shower with reflective American Olean Morello mosaic tiles framed in a Schluter Quadec edge. Natural light shines onto the entire space and reflects on the glass door and tiles, creating a soothing effect in this spa-style design. The Diamond Cabinets by MasterBrand shaker style gray vanity offers plenty of storage and is a stylish element of this design. It is complemented by Richelieu transitional style hardware and a white quartz countertop, along with undermount porcelain sinks and Kohler Memoirs Stately faucets. A Fleurco Halo illuminated mirror offers an ideal place to get ready, with LED technology and warm white light.

Asian influences blended with native plantings helped create this garden, which we call Prairie-fusion. Water is the main focus of the garden, which falls and flows creating both visual and audial impact. Colorful koi dot the dark waters which reflect light and landscape. Choices in construction material were made to enhance a rustic look while touches of Japanese-inspired influences were appropriately placed to introduce an exotic feel. In keeping with the traditional Japanese gardens, raked rocks and boulders simulate islands in water. While inspired by the East, the garden is rooted firmly in the Midwestern landscape, surrounded and softened by plants native to woodlands and wetlands, including ferns, sedges, wild columbine, blue flag iris, horsetail rush, water lilies and native maples. A ramp leading up to the decking combined both reclaimed railroad ties and gravel, tying in the two solid ground influences in the garden. Live moss was used heavily on boulders and wood creating the illusion of a garden which has been tucked away, living and growing for a long time. Photo by Larry Carnes

A little rustic, a little modern, mixed together to create one beautiful kitchen! We used gray glass as a back splash to compliment the white cabinets and stainless appliances. Check out the custom hood with metal detail too!

We initially were hired to work with our clients on their upstairs bathrooms. Once we started working together the upstairs bathrooms were put on hold and instead we updated the entire first floor!
We painted or put wallpaper in each space and added new pieces of furniture to blend with existing pieces. Lighting was updated and added throughout. Staying in tune with the original character of the home was an important focus and we paid close attention to that in our selection of light fixtures, furniture and fabrics. We added a hall closet, put wainscoting in the dining room, updated the fireplace tile surround and added details to the living room bookcase. The kitchen got a fresh new look with minimal renovating - we removed some cabinetry, added floating shelves, tiled the wall and designed a custom built-in breakfast nook. We most recently worked on converting an upstairs sun porch to a home office. We opened up the ceilings, added hardwood flooring to match the rest of the house and furnished it with a few of our client's existing pieces and some new. The end result of this project is a beautiful and welcoming space that we feel truly reflects our clients!

Our client exudes warmth, welcome & generosity so we wanted her home to reflect that. To do that we used inviting colors, playful patterns & soft textures that draw you in, inviting you to stay awhile.

The smaller of the two ponds is just steps outside the homeowners’ back door. Note how beautiful the back of the house is captured in the pond and reflected back.

The stone bridge with turret creates a stunning pond reflection in its crystal clear water. The water stays this way because we used a natural ecosystem to keep it clean. There is a large bog filter at the waterfall on one end, with a 3,000 gallon pondless reservoir with two 20,000 GPH pumps feeding the waterfall. www.deckandpatio.com

Our flex room is staged perfectly for a reading room with tufted chairs in a happy green and accents in navy blue and gold. This room could also be an office or bedroom.
