I set out to design a master bedroom that was both masculine and feminine. Layering color, textures, patterns and prints helped me to do so. The crisp white walls, delicate chandelier, and intricate gold frames brought the feminine vibe, and the dark rug, black pinstripes on the bedding and the heavy slate drapes added the masculine touch. The pinstripe suiting material on the rounded slipper chairs is a bit of both! The prints and colors may all vary, but since they are still in the same palette they all work well together

To relieve stress and anxiety, our clients also wanted to turn their pool bath into a steam room. Because the guest bedroom closet was positioned on the other side of the bathroom, it made it easy to create an accessible location for the required ThermaSol steam generator. The ceiling-height custom steam shower enclosure was designed with a moving transom glass door, and the shower walls were laid in Neostile Chalk tile by Happy Floors with a perfect square of Elysium tile in Pontus blue, creating a stunning visual focal point. Brushed satin nickel hardware was chosen to match the new Signature Hardware plumbing selections and accessories. The shower floor was laid in an Akau Riverstone Cappuccino pebble mosaic tile, butting up against the Chalet Miele wood plank porcelain tile that flows effortlessly throughout the rest of the home. A white custom DuraSupreme floating vanity (with Homestead door style) was topped with polished Kelvingrove Cambria Quartz countertops—in warm and nurturing Earth tones of taupe, white, and Robin’s egg blue-green. For perfect task lighting, a lighted mirror was installed over the vanity. Finally, the walls were painted a light beige (Sherwin Williams #7036) in a satin finish to create a perfectly enclosed space that promotes relaxation and healthier living.

We gutted the entire master bath and basically started from scratch. This space was literally brought to life. The open shower and free-standing tub lightens and balances the floor to ceiling grey stone.

Room Redefined supported the organization of a closet designed and installed by The Container Store in a new-build in the Observatory Park neighborhood. Decluttering, sorting, purging, selling of unwanted items, organizing and assigning homes of all items were key parts of our process to producing this easily accessible and maintainable master closet space. Working with a professional organizer for your home organization projects allows you to focus on what you do best, while knowing your projects will be taken care of and your stress relieved! The master bath design created for this Yardley, PA home is a dream come true. Every detail of this design combines to create a space that is highly function and stylish, while also feeling like a relaxing retreat from daily life. The combination of a Victoria + Albert freestanding tub with the Isenberg waterfall tub filler faucet is sure to be a favorite spot for a soothing stress reliever. If you prefer to relax in the shower, the large, walk-in shower has everything you need. The frameless glass door leads into a large, corner shower complete with MSI hexagonal mosaic shower floor, recessed storage niche, and corner shelf. The highlight of this shower is the Toto Connelly shower plumbing including body sprays, rainfall and handheld showerheads, and a thermostatic shower. The Toto Drake II toilet sits in a separate toilet compartment with a frosted glass pocket door. The DuraSupreme vanity with Avery panel door in caraway on cherry with a charcoal glaze has ample storage. It is complemented by Top Knobs hardware, a Silestone Ocean Jasper eased edge countertop, and two sinks with two-handled faucets. Above the vanity are Dainolite pendant lights, plus a Robern lift-up medicine cabinet with lights, a defogger, and a magnifying mirror. This amazing bath design is sure to be the highlight of this Yardley, PA home.

The outdated kitchen’s confining walls were torn down relieving this space from being cramped. Out were the oak senseless upper cabinets that looked over the peninsula blocking site lines. Rolling baby blue and jolly blue porcelain tiles enshroud the kitchen backsplash bringing forth a burst of color against the raven new cabinetry. An expansive island with the ability to seat six is the perfect place to entertain. All new stainless-steel appliances create a sleek modern feel to this renovated kitchen. A fine detail in this space are the seafoam green glass knobs and pulls delivering in a small yet significant ocean element.

Amazing transformation of severely damaged retaining wall, Both return walls were cracked and we removed the enite section or steps and wall of the existing brick, reconstructed new all with proper drainage, and reconstructed the wall with mossrock stone to veneer. The structural part of the existing brick that remained was also veneered with mossrock, leaving the long section in the middle brick to balance with the house brick color. The entire wall was dug out from behind to install gravel and drainage, as well at to relieve pressure on wall and install weep holes not included in original wall construction. Irrigation was adjusted and a small seatwall was constructed behind existing wall to direct water away from the wall. Plantings were removed to open the view and replaced with metal railing

The owners raised their family within the original walls and love the house’s location, which is not far from town and also borders conservation land. But they didn’t love how chopped up the house was and the lack of exposure to natural daylight and views of the lush rear woods. Plus, they were ready to de-clutter for a more stream-lined look. As a result, KHS collaborated with them to create a quiet, clean design to support the lifestyle they aspire to in retirement. To transform the original ranch house, KHS proposed several significant changes that would make way for a number of related improvements. Proposed changes included the removal of the attached enclosed breezeway (which had included a stair to the basement living space) and the two-car garage it partially wrapped, which had blocked vital eastern daylight from accessing the interior. Together the breezeway and garage had also contributed to a long, flush front façade. In its stead, KHS proposed a new two-car carport, attached storage shed, and exterior basement stair in a new location. The carport is bumped closer to the street to relieve the flush front facade and to allow access behind it to eastern daylight in a relocated rear kitchen. KHS also proposed a new, single, more prominent front entry, closer to the driveway to replace the former secondary entrance into the dark breezeway and a more formal main entrance that had been located much farther down the facade and curiously bordered the bedroom wing. Inside, low ceilings and soffits in the primary family common areas were removed to create a cathedral ceiling (with rod ties) over a reconfigured semi-open living, dining, and kitchen space. A new gas fireplace serving the relocated dining area -- defined by a new built-in banquette in a new bay window -- was designed to back up on the existing wood-burning fireplace that continues to serve the living area. A shared full bath, serving two guest bedrooms on the main level, was reconfigured, and additional square footage was captured for a reconfigured master bathroom off the existing master bedroom. A new whole-house color palette, including new finishes and new cabinetry, complete the transformation. Today, the owners enjoy a fresh and airy re-imagining of their familiar ranch house.
