The goal of the homeowner was to modernize and make the existing kitchen more functional by adding storage, countertop work space, and better task lighting. Castle was able to design an updated kitchen that refaced and painted half of the cabinets and added new deeper cabinets in an L shape that helped meet the clients goals. White painted shaker style doors and slab drawers help compliment the locally made recycled glass countertops and white oak hardwood floors. Thanks to ample LED cabinet lighting the most noticeable feature of this updated kitchen is the local hand-made mid-century backsplash tile from Mercury Mosaics. For 39 years, the owners of this four bedroom home lived with a cramped bathroom that hardly deserved to be called a master bath. Its limited space allowed only one user at a time, lacked counterspace, and was severely outdated.
The homeowners had specific needs and a very clear vision for their remodeled bath, which included:
- Enlarging the existing space to make it suitable for two to use
- A claw foot tub for daily baths
- A spa shower
- Plenty of counterspace and storage
- A modern European aesthetic
- “Bling factor”
The new design is the ultimate marriage of function and style. To start, the space from a seldom used spare bedroom was captured. A custom floating vanity provides much needed counterspace and storage. Multiple light sources provide task, ambient light and natural light.
A claw foot tub serves as the focal point and inspiration for the rest of the finishes. A crystal chandelier and wall sconces add an elegant “bling factor”. The curves of the vessel sinks balance nicely with the straight lines of the vanity. A spa shower provides a soothing option for days when the owner opts for a faster bathing option.

This Historical Home was built in the Columbia Country Club in 1925 and was ready for a new, modern kitchen which kept the traditional feel of the home. A previous sunroom addition created a dining room, but the original kitchen layout kept the two rooms divided. The kitchen was a small and cramped c-shape with a narrow door leading into the dining area.
The kitchen and dining room were completely opened up, creating a long, galley style, open layout which maximized the space and created a very good flow. Dimensions In Wood worked in conjuction with the client’s architect and contractor to complete this renovation.
Custom cabinets were built to use every square inch of the floorplan, with the cabinets extending all the way to the ceiling for the most storage possible. Our woodworkers even created a step stool, staining it to match the kitchen for reaching these high cabinets. The family already had a kitchen table and chairs they were happy with, so we refurbished them to match the kitchen’s new stain and paint color.
Crown molding top the cabinet boxes and extends across the ceiling where they create a coffered ceiling, highlighting the beautiful light fixtures centered on a wood medallion.
Columns were custom built to provide separation between the different sections of the kitchen, while also providing structural support.
Our master craftsmen kept the original 1925 glass cabinet doors, fitted them with modern hardware, repainted and incorporated them into new cabinet boxes. TASK LED Lighting was added to this china cabinet, highlighting the family’s decorative dishes.
Appliance Garage
On one side of the kitchen we built an appliance garage with doors that slide back into the cabinet, integrated power outlets and door activated lighting. Beside this is a small Galley Workstation for beverage and bar service which has the Galley Bar Kit perfect for sliced limes and more.
Baking Cabinet with Pocket Doors
On the opposite side, a baking cabinet was built to house a mixer and all the supplies needed for creating confections. Automatic LED lights, triggered by opening the door, create a perfect baker’s workstation. Both pocket doors slide back inside the cabinet for maximum workspace, then close to hide everything, leaving a clean, minimal kitchen devoid of clutter.
Super deep, custom drawers feature custom dividers beneath the baking cabinet. Then beneath the appliance garage another deep drawer has custom crafted produce boxes per the customer’s request.
Central to the kitchen is a walnut accent island with a granite countertop and a Stainless Steel Galley Workstation and an overhang for seating. Matching bar stools slide out of the way, under the overhang, when not in use. A color matched outlet cover hides power for the island whenever appliances are needed during preparation.
The Galley Workstation has several useful attachments like a cutting board, drying rack, colander holder, and more. Integrated into the stone countertops are a drinking water spigot, a soap dispenser, garbage disposal button and the pull out, sprayer integrated faucet.
Directly across from the conveniently positioned stainless steel sink is a Bertazzoni Italia stove with 5 burner cooktop. A custom mosaic tile backsplash makes a beautiful focal point. Then, on opposite sides of the stove, columns conceal Rev-a-Shelf pull out towers which are great for storing small items, spices, and more. All outlets on the stone covered walls also sport dual USB outlets for charging mobile devices.
Stainless Steel Whirlpool appliances throughout keep a consistent and clean look. The oven has a matching microwave above it which also works as a convection oven. Dual Whirlpool dishwashers can handle all the family’s dirty dishes.
The flooring has black, marble tile inlays surrounded by ceramic tile, which are period correct for the age of this home, while still being modern, durable and easy to clean.
Finally, just off the kitchen we also remodeled their bar and snack alcove. A small liquor cabinet, with a refrigerator and wine fridge sits opposite a snack bar and wine glass cabinets. Crown molding, granite countertops and cabinets were all customized to match this space with the rest of the stunning kitchen.

This garage conversion in La Crescenta transformed an underutilized space into a stylish and highly functional laundry room combined with a playroom. The goal was to create a practical, organized area that feels modern, durable, and welcoming for everyday use.
Cambria quartz countertops were selected for their durability and sleek finish—ideal for a high-use laundry space. Rich dark blue cabinetry adds depth and character, while black fixtures and dark gold hardware introduce a balanced, contemporary contrast.
The light gray epoxy flooring provides a seamless, durable surface that resists wear and stains, making it perfect for both laundry tasks and children’s activities. A modular storage system was installed to maximize organization and maintain a clean, clutter-free environment.
Through close collaboration with the homeowner, this garage remodel was thoughtfully designed to combine functionality, style, and flexibility creating a versatile space that serves the family’s daily needs.

Cluttered, dark, and chilly basements can be daunting spaces for remodeling. They tend to get filled with every old and unwanted item in the house from worn out furniture to childhood memorabilia .This basement was a really challenging task and we succeed to create really cozy, warm, and inviting atmosphere—not like a basement at all. The work involved was extensive, from the foundation to new molding. Our aim was to create a unique space that would be as enjoyable as the rest of this home. We utilized the odd space under the stairs by incorporating a wet bar. We installed TV screen with surround sound system, that makes you feel like you are part of the action and cozy fireplace to cuddle up while enjoying a movie.

The sleek, new work area includes deep filing drawers, cabinet storage space, and a large desktop. Undercabinet lights paired with the LED can lights we installed in the ceiling provide a near-shadowless task environment.
To create a more finished look in the room, our designers also included new crown moulding and a frame around the window. New 6-panel bi-fold doors conceal the closet and match the new raised panel cabinetry. The same rich, engineered wood flooring that was used throughout the rest of the house was continued into the guest bedroom.

The removal of a shared wall between the kitchen and living room of this split level home led to an amazing transformation. The kitchen boasts Wynnbrooke Cabinetry in a painted white finish with Amerock satin nickel hardware. The stainless steel farm sink blends beautifully with the appliances. Cambria countertops in Torquay finish off the L-shaped cabinetry as well as the island which features deep drawers and pull out trash bins. The light finishes lend well to the new open floor plan.
The master bath was completely remodeled with all new cabinetry, countertops, fixtures and Constellation Black shower pan and panels with a subway tile look from The Onyx Collection. A full frameless glass door and enclosure makes the bathroom feel much larger. In the basement bath, a new Onyx lavatory and a new tub/shower combination updated the room.
A home salon was added to the lower level. New paint, doors and trim finished out this remodel. A few years before the interior remodel, Conant Construction was tasked with updating the exterior facade, adding a garage and making some upgrades to the deck.

We are thrilled to unveil our latest bathroom remodeling project, a seamless blend of modern design and functional elegance. Here's a glimpse into the transformation:
1. Contemporary Palette: The choice of a grey color tile sets a sophisticated and neutral backdrop, allowing the features of the bathroom to shine. This hue not only exudes a sense of calm but also complements the contemporary design elements we've incorporated.
2. Warmth Underfoot: One of the standout features of this remodel is the heated flooring that runs under all the tiled areas. This luxurious addition ensures that even on the coldest mornings, your feet are greeted with a warm embrace, elevating the comfort level of the bathroom.
3. Enhanced Layout: Recognizing the need for more convenience, we repositioned the shower and introduced a second toilet room. This not only maximizes the use of space but also ensures that the bathroom can cater to multiple users without any hassle.
4. Dual Shower Spaces: By eliminating two angles in the bathroom's corner, we've carved out space for two distinct shower areas. This design choice not only adds a touch of luxury but also offers a versatile bathing experience tailored to individual preferences.
5. Wet Room Wonder: The shower and tub area now reside within a waterproof wet room. This innovative design ensures that water stays where it's supposed to, eliminating the need for a curb and offering a sleek, uninterrupted flow to the space.
6. Floating Vanities: Our floating vanities are more than just a design statement. They create an illusion of space, making the bathroom appear larger and more open. Paired with a stunning stone backsplash, they offer a perfect blend of style and functionality.
7. Illuminated Elegance: The mirrors, with their integrated lights, are the pièce de résistance. They not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the bathroom but also ensure optimal lighting, making daily grooming tasks a breeze.
This bathroom remodel is a testament to our commitment to marrying design with functionality. Every element, from the choice of tiles to the heated floors, has been thoughtfully chosen to create a space that is not just visually appealing but also supremely functional and comfortable. We invite you to step in and experience this modern oasis for yourself.
