The Capital Garden Ship Pot is a replica of an antique lead planter that was cast in 1757 for the British Royal Navy. The ships, mermaids and starfish that circle the pot are cast from lightweight fiberglass that won't crack or rust like the original. This pot is made without drainage holes however holes can be predrilled upon request. This planter is shown in a Faux Lead finish, which is how this planter is stocked for quick shipping.

These clients are Disney FANATICS and desired a whimsical play space for their two young children. We wanted to give them all the whimsy they desired with a subtle Disney undertone. A hidden theme in each element to the design is derived from different Disney movies. For example, seven drawers under the window seat for the “Seven Dwarfs”, scalloped removable wallpaper behind the TV to represent “The Little Mermaid” fish scales, whimsical umbrellas on the custom storage unit are straight replicas of the “Mary Poppins” prop, a bold hair on hide to call to “The Lion King”, a small sofa that converts to a twin bed perfect for “Sleeping Beauty”. The hidden messages throughout the space lead to a unique design and story that the clients were enthralled to play along with!

This is an exact replica of era specific look. We used all vertical grain fir and cedar for this beautiful historic home on Queen Ann in Seattle. Westbrook Restorations manufactured the fascia in our carpenter shop. This home has 4 gable ends with many of the same components seen here. The home has not been painted yet, showing the quality of our workmanship if you look closely. If you are looking for your home to look like this there is only one company in Seattle to call and that's Westbrook Restorations!

The goal of this project, including the master bathroom, was to maintain and celebrate the beautiful vintage pieces of the home while infusing it with our owners' love of art deco and black and white styling.

This coloured-based, porcelain tile from our Avenue series comes in two styles; matte and semi-polished, each available in four colours. Suitable for use in both residential and commercial walls and floors with high traffic.

A two-story restaurant and bar in the heart of Rochester Hills approached Horizon Interior Design with an exciting design brief to pay homage to the American-style food they served with a 1940's retro redesign.
The new tenants had some great ideas for fresh paint, décor, a mural of a vintage plane, and a female pilot in a pinup style reminiscent of the 1940s. They wanted to keep their flooring and furnishings as is, challenging us to create a harmonious design while incorporating what they already had.
Using vintage magazines, newspapers, and posters from the 1940s, as well as replicas of old décor and wall art, we brought the 40's back to this commercial restaurant's interior design! Adding deep red and white accents to the navy blue walls created a patriotic feel, while a hand-painted distressed American flag hung over the bar for that extra touch of 40's magic.
We painted a magnificent wall mural of a jet and pilot, applied shiplap to the front of the bar and an accent wall, and then decorated it with vintage tin signs from the 1940's. We installed luxurious vintage-style chandeliers on both floors, illuminated with Edison bulbs to warm up the dining areas and bring a sense of grandeur to the space. Upon completion, walking into the restaurant felt like being transported back to this beautiful decade, attracting clientele to experience something special.

We were excited when the homeowners of this project approached us to help them with their whole house remodel as this is a historic preservation project. The historical society has approved this remodel. As part of that distinction we had to honor the original look of the home; keeping the façade updated but intact. For example the doors and windows are new but they were made as replicas to the originals. The homeowners were relocating from the Inland Empire to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. One of their requests was additional living space. In order to achieve this we added a second story to the home while ensuring that it was in character with the original structure. The interior of the home is all new. It features all new plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Although the home is a Spanish Revival the homeowners style on the interior of the home is very traditional. The project features a home gym as it is important to the homeowners to stay healthy and fit. The kitchen / great room was designed so that the homewoners could spend time with their daughter and her children. The home features two master bedroom suites. One is upstairs and the other one is down stairs. The homeowners prefer to use the downstairs version as they are not forced to use the stairs. They have left the upstairs master suite as a guest suite.

When this home was built in 1928, the master closet consisted of two shallow depth spaces that accommodated one row of shoe storage with a clothes rod above. Between two closets there was a large unused dressing area that called out for better use.
We removed the existing closets and repurposed the space into a spacious master closet. An arched cased opening was removed and the wall framed to accommodate a new set of pocket doors. Complete with inset beveled glass mirrors, as shown in the photograph, they tastefully separate the closet from the bedroom.
Within the closet an abundance of new shelving and hanging space was created. Wardrobe cabinets, shoe shelving and adjustable shelving were installed to provide the storage expected by the owner. Hanging space was increased by ten fold, while multiple drawers serve as the location for undergarment storage.
