Jacqueline is a Haute Culture creation, a place without limits, where culture and experimentation merge into a single essence, becoming the focus of a continuous exploration of boundless worlds, giving rise to exclusive creations.
The Jacqueline collection is the first and only to be created in real bamboo. One of the foremost values of Haute Culture is its inherent uniqueness: just like a tailored outfit, every Gessi collection stands out for its unmistakeable originality. Similarly, as the creation of a haute couture garment involves meticulous steps, each mixer in the Jacqueline collection undergoes a comparable handmade process, making them unique and incompatible with mass production.
Jacqueline represents the perfect encounter between the excellence of Italian haute couture and the finest craftsmanship. Inspired by the timeless appeal of style icons, Jacqueline reinterprets the concept of exclusive tailoring with a design that stands out for its timeless elegance and refinement, bringing bamboo into the bathroom for the first time. Each element of the collection is born from a sartorial process, designed to harmoniously adapt to the personality of those who choose it, like a haute couture garment.
Material innovation is at the heart of Jacqueline where bamboo represents a deep connection with nature. The roots, hand-selected, are processed to create organic shapes that make each element unique. Gessi has reinterpreted tradition through a patented process that combines bamboo with metal, resulting in exclusive, cutting-edge solutions including the Matte Black finish, which gives the collection a contemporary and sophisticated effect.

Slim Aarons
Pool At Las Hadas About this photograph
The locations of photographs are very important in Aarons' work, and one of his preferred themes is holidaymakers. Slim Aarons' style reflects the Jet Set that he photographs: it is flawless. Beyond any anthropological notions, the artist seeks above all to represent a lifestyle that treads the fine line between paradise-on-earth and a fake, fairytale decor. Representations of taste in terms of the fashion, design and architecture of bygone eras reinforce this sensation. Rather than simply capturing a social milieu, the artist strives to represent a way of living life ‘as spectacle’.

The fact that this home is in a development called Providence now seems perfectly fitting. Chris, the owner, was merely considering the possibility of downsizing from a formal residence outside Atlanta when he happened on the small complex of luxury brownstones under construction in nearby Roswell. “I wandered into The Providence by chance and loved what I saw. The developer, his wife, and the agent were there and discussing how Cantoni was going to finish out one of the units, and so we all started talking,” Chris explains “They asked if I wanted to meet with the designer from Cantoni, and suggested I could customize the home as I saw fit, and that did it for me. I was sold.”
Cantoni was originally approached by Mike and Joy Walsh, of Lehigh Homes, to create a contemporary model home to be featured on the Roswell Woman’s Club home tour. “Since Chris bought the brownstone right after we agreed to do the design work,” Lorna Hunter recalls, “we brought him in on the meetings with the architects to help finalize the layout.” From selecting tile and counter tops, to designing the kitchen and baths, to the furniture, art and even linens—Cantoni was involved with every phase of the project. “This home really represents the complete range of design and staging services we offer at Cantoni,” says Lorna. “Rooms were reconfigured to allow for changes Chris found appealing, and every tile and doorknob was thoughtfully chosen to complete the overall look.”
Chris found an easy rapport with Lorna. “I have always been drawn to contemporary décor,” he explains, “ so Lorna and I hit it off immediately.” Among the custom design ideas the two conceived for the 2,600 sq. ft. 3/3 brownstone: creating a “wing wall” (open on both sides) to form a sitting area adjacent to the guest room
downstairs, removing the elevator to enhance a sense of openness while leaving the 3-story shaft as a unique focal point, and choosing to expand the height of windows on the third level to maximize the flow of natural light.
The Providence is ideally located near quaint shops, great restaurants, jogging trails and a scenic river—not to mention it’s just four miles from Chris’ office. The project represents the breadth and depth of Cantoni’s in-house creative resources, and proves again that GREAT DESIGN IS A WAY OF LIFE.

Camel Back in Black is the quintessential “mullet house,” which is the common name for a renovated historic home in the front (business) with a modern addition in the rear (party). In this case the existing structure was an early 20th century New Orleans Shotgun Duplex Home that was adapted to be shorter due to both site constraints and an existing carport addition, which was removed. The design strategy was to create a distinct new entry to the main unit of the home along the side of the property. This was achieved through a clear delineation of a modern massing of a second story addition (called a Camelback in New Orleans) with a roof that wraps to frame an exterior gate. The gate leads to a raised rear yard, which was filled in to be the same height as the main home to make it more of an extension of some of the public spaces rather than a small sunken pit, which can often be a lifeless space.
Many time you will see new Camelback additions in the city that take a more blended approach, but in this case because of the corner lot and the desire to create a prominent entry (along that side) a clear line is delineated between old and new. This was done intentionally to clearly represent the original form with appropriately renovate historic details true to the original, without creating a false sense of history through an addition that would have not represented a proportion that was standard for the time the original structure was built.
The existing home was the childhood dwelling of the owner, who inherited it years after it fell into disrepair. There was mold, rot and structural disrepair, but it was important to the owner that NFA preserved as much of the existing portions of the home as possible; so where there was flooring that could be preserved (and refinished) it was, where there were historic interior and exterior trim detailing that could be preserved it was and if not it was replicated in kind to the original. On the other hand, there were certain modern needs and updates that were desired and didn’t want the design to feel overly constrained by certain replicas of historic troupes. So, the addition and many of the interior finishes were intentionally contemporary.

Eichler X-100 Exterior: A Steel-Framed Icon of California Modernism
The exterior of the Eichler X-100 is a bold architectural statement—where structure, material, and landscape are expressed with total clarity. Designed by A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons for Joseph Eichler, the home reimagines the traditional façade as something far more experimental and forward-thinking.
A Structural Expression, Not Just a Façade
Unlike conventional Eichler homes, the X-100’s exterior reveals its steel-frame construction. Six exposed steel I-beams project outward at the front elevation, creating a rhythmic, almost industrial composition. This honest expression of structure eliminates the need for load-bearing walls and becomes the defining visual language of the home.
The use of concrete block, steel, and glass creates a striking contrast—grounded yet lightweight, industrial yet refined. Every material is intentional, with nothing hidden or decorative for its own sake.
Geometry and Simplicity
The massing is low and horizontal, consistent with mid-century modern principles, but elevated through precise geometry and modular spacing. Clean rooflines and deep overhangs emphasize horizontality while providing both shade and visual depth.
The entry sequence is subtle and understated—typical of Eichler design—drawing you inward rather than announcing itself outwardly.
Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Connection
At the rear, the home opens dramatically through expansive glass walls, dissolving the boundary between interior living spaces and the landscape beyond. The backyard is not separate from the home—it is an extension of it.
Outdoor spaces are carefully composed with:
Circular hardscape elements that echo the home’s geometric language
Integrated planting areas that soften the architectural lines
A strong sense of privacy despite the openness
Atrium Living from the Outside In
While many Eichlers feature atriums, the X-100 takes it further—its interior gardens influence the exterior experience, creating layered transparency. Glimpses of greenery, filtered light, and architectural framing give the home a dynamic, ever-changing presence from different vantage points.
A Prototype of the Future
The exterior of the Eichler X-100 doesn’t just represent a style—it represents a moment of experimentation in American residential design. It merges industrial innovation with livable beauty, embodying the optimism and forward-thinking spirit of California Modernism.
For design enthusiasts, the X-100 exterior is not just visually compelling—it’s a rare opportunity to experience architecture where structure, space, and landscape operate as one cohesive idea. Image Sabrina Huang

Though lovely, this new build was lacking personality. This work from home family needed a vision to transform their priority spaces into something that felt unique and deeply personal. Having relocated from California, they sought a home that truly represented their family's identity and catered to their lifestyle. With a blank canvas to work with, the design team had the freedom to create a space that combined interest, beauty, and high functionality. A home that truly represented who they are.
